One small flake on top of one dish and another small flake on bottom of other pat, look closely at pics. All 4 are in good condition for age, very old from late 1800's. They do have some brown staining that comes out most times when soaked in bleach or peroxide, I did not try. All have antique Johnson Bros mark on back. And 1-1/8 tall with scalloped edges. Although I do not know their exact age it is obvious that they are Antique porcelain. Beautiful floral artwork with pink and wine accents to the flowers with green leaves, trim and branches. Tiny dots of white paint finish there lovely design off. Each is scalloped and they have bright color, each hand painted. One has a tiny flea mark that has been touch up and can hardly be seen. This listing is for four plates. 5" in Diameter Marked on the back: Made in Japan Not sure of the age. But old. They were old when I got them many years ago. Not perfect. But I think they were made that way. I mean the imperfections occurred when they were made. They're not fine china. But are still very pretty. I'd call them Country Victorian Style or slightly Shabby Chic. No chips or cracks. Just little imperfections in the glaze. Some small pit marks that are under the glaze. ***Collection of 4 Antique Austrian Butter Pats***
This auction is for an antique collection of 4 Austrian butter pats. They are estimated to have been made between 1744-1770. They are all in good condition with little signs of use. But there are signs of use including some scratches on the back of one and a small place where the glaze was rubbed off on another. Otherwise they are in good condition. The painting on these pieces have lots of detail and can hopefully be seen in the pictures I have provided. Two of the pieces are the same and the other 2 are different, making 3 different patterns in all, making them a great conversation piece, in turn, making them a great addition to any collection.
