Offered for your collecting enjoyment from my last trip to France is this lovely antique majolica butter pat. It is only marked"france" on the back so I do not know the maker. It is possible it could be many of the factories in the east of France as I found this in Metz which is in the east of France close to the German border. It is a lovely peacock with his feathers spread to attract a mate. It is in a wonderful celedon green which is rarely seen! Antique Pair of Salmon Pink French Majolica Butter Pats c1850-1890, ff354
Offered is this beautiful pair of small butter pats I found in France. They were not marked so they must be early ones. They are a pinky-salmon color and scalloped and fluted. Very lovely! I took photos in studio and in sunlight for you to see the actual color. They measure 3 inches in diameter. They are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some glaze crazing due to age which is normal. You could also use these as open salt celers. To put your rings in before you cook or do the dishes or to put your morning vitamins in. There is no reserve on this pretty antique majolica butter pat. We are pleased to offer a very nice majolica butter pat for your consideration. The pattern is three green leaves with pink accents on three sides. It is shown in Mark’s blue book at the bottom of page 111. There is some roughness on one spot on the rim. There is also a tiny flake on the back. We believe that this is the scarce Geranium pattern. Please enjoy the photos as they are an important part of describing majolica. I am Offering a Beautiful Antique Majolica Butter Pat The Pattern is Basketweave with Blackberries and Leaves. The First 2 Pictures show the actual color. Once I took close up shots, the color washed out in the pictures. This Butter Pat is 3 3/8" and is 1/2" Tall. There is a Dimple in the Rim which you can see in the last picture. But I believe this was done in the making as there is Glaze over it. Other than the Dimple. This Butter Pat is in Great Condition. There are no Cracks Chips or Crazing. Very beautiful antique majolica dish. Bowl or large butter pat. It features morning glory flowers and green leaves on a woven white napkin that sits on a brown weaved circle and a green rim. Just a stunning dish. It measures 5.5 inches in diameter and stands 1 inch off the table. I see no chips or cracks. There is some light wear on the high points as you can see in the photos. Antique English Majolica. Wonderful 19th century majolica butter pat dish with impressed“COPELAND” mark. The back is also marked with an impressed letter“A” over“78” This piece is in the form of a pansy blossom and measures 3” 7.7 cm) in diameter. Condition: This little dish is in excellent condition. With no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some slight scuffing on the high points of the inner surface most likely caused by stacking. On the outer edge of the piece there is a tiny firing flaw(or kiln mark) which has a scuffed finish and some dark cinder type specks caught in the clay.
