Vintage Blue Glass Racing Horse Heads Butter Pats Set of 4 Beautiful!
For sale is are a set of 4 blue glass I think butter pats from their size. They measure 1/2" tall and 3 3/8" long. They have a diamond cut design on edge and in the middle they have 2 racing horse heads. The edge tops are a little rough as are most dips so that is why I think they are butter pats. Otherwise they are in good shape with no cracks or major chips. Postage includes insurance. I have been selling for over 42 years in some shape or form so please ask any questions you need to. Lot of 5 Antique Victorian and Edwardian butter pats- Lot 2 I am selling off some of antique butter pats that were purchased at antique shows and stores in Massachusetts 50 years ago. I would date three of these from 1870s– 1920s. The blue Longfellow Inn and green pats are not as old but for sure are 40+ years old. All are a little under or over 3” round. Descriptions(s1-2 = top row. L to R) 3 = center) s 4-5 = bottom row, L to R) 1. green transferware pat with rose pattern. The bottom is marked: Arabia Made in Finland 2 with a tiny crown. There are two rough scuff marks on the scalloped edges and there is a rough area in the glaze which was there when created. 2. unmarked thicker white pat with a black transfer design. Seems like the kind of piece used in hotels. No chips– very nice. 3. Mr. pat– white with blue trim and a gold MR. on the ... moretop. Some light crazing– there are some blue lines on the bottom but no other mark. No chips or cracks. 4. blue and gold scalloped floral pat– when I was little this was my favorite but it does have a tiny chip on the top edge and one underneath that looks like it was repaired. There is a gilded edge. It is marked 36 in blue. There is a gold mark of some kind and an embossed P in the center. No crazing. 5. blue transfer ware pat depicting the Longellow& Wayside Inn. S. These two butter pats measure just 3 inches in diameter. The marks on the back indicate that the pattern name is Loraine and the maker. John Alcock& Sons of England. They were likely made in the late 1800's. The butter pats are in good condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few tiny imperfections that have been there since they were manufactured. Up for bid is a lovely set/8 Blue Flow butter pats from Grindley in The Duchess pattern. Please read entire description before bidding. They measure 3 1/4" The tops of the pats are fine. Except for some minor gold wear on a couple of them. The underside of 3 of them have some crazing. I have taken pictures of the 3 that have the crazing. Also, a few of them have a couple of small manufacturing bumps, that were not smoothed before painting. I think I have described the issues as well as photos.
