They were made by the Webster Company of North Attleboro. Massachusetts. The company was founded in 1869 and later became part of Reed and Barton. Each butter pat is 3.5 inches in diameter and marked sterling on the back together with the Webster mark. The set together weighs 3.8 ounces on a postal scale, so just the silver value is considerable. They look beautiful on a fine tablecloth.

Lot of 6 Antique Victorian and Edwardian butter pats- Lot 1 I am selling off some of my antique butter pats that were purchased at antique shows and stores in Massachusetts 50 years ago. I would date these from 1870s– 1920s. All are a little under or over 3” round. Descriptions(s 1-3 = top row. L to R) s 4-6 = bottom row, L to R) 1. pretty small pat with pink rose and gilded edge. Light crazing and a few surface stains– it is unmarked 2.simple but elegant white butter pat with gilded edges. It does not have any chips but there is some light crazing and the gold is darkened in some areas. It is marked England. W. H. Grindley& Co with laurels and a P in gold. 3. pink and purple rose design with gilded branches. The gold around the edges is a little worn and there is a tiny chip on one of the edges(seen from the side) The foot is very dirty ... morebecause of age. Not marked. 4. pretty scalloped shaped pat with a pink and blue floral design. It is marked: Johnson Bros England with a crown on the bottom in green. In good condition– there is a flaw on the underside(extra piece of clay or dirt) that is under the glaze and was there when created. 5. this one is my favorite but it has several little chips on the edges and a few hairlines. Not to mention the crazing. It has a pretty pink. gold and black border. Unmarked. 6. pink floral and blue ribbon design on this lovely unmarked pat. There is a small 1/8” hairline on one of the scalloped edges. Please make sure to check the photos for condition as described above. This is a beautiful set of 6 hand painted porcelain open salts/salt cellars. They have scalloped edges and unusual raised dots around the inside edge. They are hand painted with a violets and gold motif. They measure 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" They are unmarked so I am unsure of their origin. They could be from Japan or possibly France. The owner's mother had purchased them at an Antique Show back in 1970 so I would guess that they predate 1940. They are in very good condition. No chips or cracks. There is some slight rubbing of the gold on some edges and some brown marks on the unglazed bottoms. They are double marked with both the Haviland Limoges France mark and a Gray China Co. St, Louis, MO mark. They were probably made for a higher end shop in St. Louis, MO. Up for your consideration is this lot of Vintage Antique RETRO Collectible butter pat dishes and larger center plate. The large Plate is appx. 5 3/4" across. The butter pats are appx 3 5/8" across. Each one has a reticulated hole. There are a total of 7 butter pat plates. I am selling 6 and giving you the extra one. It has a pop hole in the ceramics about the size of a ball point pen. The rest of the items appear to be in Great useable condition appearing to have no cracks. Chips, nicks, or flea bites. For your consideration is a set of 6 Grindley semi-porcelain butter pats from the turn of the 19th/20th century. These appear little used if at all. No chips or cracks in the 6 that I am selling. I am unsure of the seventh one. the one that is by itself in the photos, which may have a small sliver off the back edge) so it is going along with the others for free. Many discolorations, roughness, marks, stains, and all sorts of imperfections under the glaze- too many to mention individually- as can be seen in the photos, so they are being sold as-is. The fronts are okay, but the backs are atrocious! Call it either the charm of the antique or an early example of the lack of quality control.Approx. 3 1/4" in diameter each. No returns. Up for bids is a set of 6 adorable antique Haviland Limoges butter pats. They are decorated with branches and autumn leaves. The designs appear to have been hand colored. The markings on back were those used by the company in the late 1880's. No chips or cracks. Although there are some minor signs of wear, especially to the gilt line around the edges.
