This is for the nice lovely Victorian butter dish shown. There is no makers mark. I believe this is an earthenware porcelain. Excellent condition for the age with no cracks. And only one tiny flea bite chip on the center circle of the insert dish. There is some crazing and age marks- consistent with over 100 years as this is probable late 1800s and English. These dishes were used with ice under the inner plates to keep the butter cold. Normal firing and manufacturing marks. It measures 5.25" diameter by 5" high. Please judge the condition by the photos. You are looking at a Moore& Co. Butter Pat done in brown Transfer Ware. I don't know the pattern name. But it has markings on the back. It measures 3" square and has a chip in one corner(please see photos for better description) This was made some time in the 1800's. Up for bid are these two rare antique butter pats manufactured by T.R. Boote in the Brown Lahore pattern. Circa 1880. These butter pats came from a three generation estate auction in northeast Indiana. The butter pats have nice detail in the brown floral transfer, well defined maker's marks, and some light staining from age.
