I am selling some of my duplicate butter pats and will be listing several over the next few weeks. This butter pat is gray white with a red. Green and blue oriental design. It is scalloped from the flat center to the rim edge. It may have been handmade or early mass produced as is not completely symmetrical. There are no utensil marks. But the pattern is quite worn and there are three small chips on the edge. The bottom is unmarked and free of damage. But there is a spot of gold paint on the rim(a manufacturer’s flaw visible in the third photo) It measures about 3 inches across. I only charge ACTUAL shipping with no handling or packing fees. Lot of 5 antique fine china blue rim and gold decoration butter pats. They measure approximately 3 1/4" in diameter. There is some color fade and crazing which I feel is consistant with age. These date from the very early 1900's. I am not sure what exactly they were used for however each measures 5 1/2" in length and 4" across. I think they were meant to be side dishes on a dinner service as there are six of them. Olives? Relish? The sides curve upwards slightly as if to hold in sauce or liquid. Each plate has a pattern of tiny blue and pink forget me not flowers. The rims are scalloped and trimmed in gold. There are no chips or cracks on any of the six. There are also no bottom marks. The markings on the bottom of the pieces date them to c. 1906 This is a great assortment of various pieces by John Maddock and Sons England. Semi Porcelain China. These dishes feature a lovely brown leaf and white flower with yellow/brown center pattern, I have been unable to officially identify the pattern name. Some more than others with what I think is"BSM" in a square. I could not find anything on this mark. This is an antique American porcelain butter pat. It measures approximately 3 ¾” in diameter. It promotes the First National Bank of Henry. Illinois. The bank’s color transfer image adorns the center. The cobalt blue border is adorned with hand gilding. The item is transfer marked on the bottom with a cartouche which reads“Made in Germany” and“Presented by First National Bank, Henry, Ill. Also on the back is a daub of blue under glaze which must have something to do with the production process. The butter pat is in good original condition. There is some wear to the external gilding. But that’s it. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The piece is not dated; however, our feeling is that it was produced c. 1900-25. This is a nice old collectable item in good condition. Low-rise, 3½" high x 7½" dia. 3-part antique Oak Leaf and Acorn finialed lid hard-paste porcelain covered butter dish with pierced strainer in overall excellent, negligibly-used condition. Albeit for some cryptic double-digit numerals and non-decipherable lettering about the interior of both the lid& base, without any manufacturer's markings present, the maker is currently unknown. Yet, this domed butter is definitely antique; placing vintage somewhere in the early 19th century. The lustrous quality of the hard-paste porcelain or faience is evident. The top and base cast a green/grayish translucency when held to light. The pieces resonate well when pinged. Other than a few post-production factory glazed-over ... morebutter cover edge flaws, and one small pinhead-sized area of light staining to a popped glaze bubble between two drain holes of the insert, the only minor issues of note involve two near-conjoined areas of shallow edge sliver chipping on the butter dish base, one of which is shown. The primitive early casting shows in the out-of-roundness of the domed lid, and the peppering of open pore marks and sectional non-sealing of glaze to the collar base. As the Oak Leaf and Acorn pattern was popular for many years in patterned white ironstone dinnerware, any number of companies both domestic& European could be responsible for the manufacture of this domed lid, 3-pc. butter dish. Beautiful floral artwork with pink and wine accents to the flowers with green leaves, trim and branches. Tiny dots of white paint finish there lovely design off. Each is scalloped and they have bright color, each hand painted. One has a tiny flea mark that has been touch up and can hardly be seen. They are hand painted with a violets and gold motif. They measure 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" They are unmarked so I am unsure of their origin. They could be from Japan or possibly France. The owner's mother had purchased them at an Antique Show back in 1970 so I would guess that they predate 1940. They are in very good condition. No chips or cracks. There is some slight rubbing of the gold on some edges and some brown marks on the unglazed bottoms.
