Fabulous pair of carved wood peacocks that were once part of an antique sofa front. They had been cut in half- Each piece measures 35" wide and 25" high and 3" deep. They are in good condition. Beautifully detailed antique carved wood pediment- measuring 42" wide and 12" at the highest point in the center. It is about 4" deep- has ledge on bottom back. It has a basket with fruit decoration in the middle. Up for auction is a sweet Victorian Pediment that has been further embellished with a Victorian period Roman Soldier Soldier. This pediment will make quite an impressive room greater with its wonderful old age espresso colored Walnut and burled veneers. Pediment is in excellent condition. Pediment is 44" wide at bottom and 48" wide at the top. Inside dimensions are 39"10/16" wide x 14" tall. Pediment is 23" tall to the ends and 4.5" deep at ends. The center statue adds another 2" of bump-out for about 6.5" of dimensional quality. If this is on the top of a door header you will need 17.5" of space above the door opening to fit this piece. Up for auction is very long 61" long Victorian Era Mahohany Pediment. Pediment would make a great doorway header. Pediment is 61" long x 56.25" opening. It is 12.5" tall x 3.75" deep. Superb Pair 19th c Antique Architectural Terra Cotta Glazed Blocks
Purchased many years ago and these have resided in my garden for years and also in my decorating inside. These are handsome terra cotta decorative blocks which measure 4 7/8” tall by 4" wide by 4 1/8" deep. They have an excellent creamy white glaze with lots of age crazing. The fronts have a geometric design and they came from a pre-1920 Chicago structure that was demolished. The left sides have a trellis design inset and the right sides have mold numbers of 670 over FK1. You will note chips in the glaze on corners and edges. There is residual mortar in the back and bottoms. The details are deeply rendered in pleasingly stylized manner and the surface has naturally weathered texture from a century in the elements. Here is an amazing 1800's gothic wood pediment. A gorgeous very chunky tombstone style. i had 2 antique appraisers take a look at this many years ago and this was dated very early 1800's possibly even older. it is in remarkable condition, the only trivial insignificant issues are one very unnoticeable small chip on the top of creatures head, really is unnoticeable in person.i actually didnt spot it till a few days after getting it.in pictures its easier to spot obviously.also has a hairline crack on top side as pictured, it is in no danger of cracking any more and is quite small, everything is solid. other than that no issues what so ever, i ... morewas told this is a black forrest wood, that is what i was told, i have no idea my self. as you can see the color througout pediment is gorgeous, has a wall hangar on back that was obviously added way later.im not exactly sure what this was originally for but was told it was most likely a bed or clock pediment. it does stand level and flat, does not wobble at all.top to bottom an incredible piece.i have never seen another like it,could just be a one of a kind piece. Set of Antique Architectural Salvage Terra Cotta - Building Garden - 65+ Pieces
Available here is a set of antique terra cotta. There are 66 pieces in total. These were salvaged from a building being torn down on the historic Troost Blvd here in Kansas City. I am unsure of the maker. But it was probably one of the many Chicago terra cotta companies. I believe these can be dated to the first quarter of the 20th century. I do not know how these were originally arranged on the building. But the possibilities for repurposing these are only limited by your imagination. They could be used in a garden as decorative pieces or could even be reused for their original purpose as a facade for your building or home. I've showcased them with a central arch, which could be a stunning entryway for the front down of your home. There are 22 pieces of the straight edged columns. They measure approximately 17" long x 5" wide ... moreand are about 6" thick. These are marked"2161" There are 12 pieces of the spiral columns. They measure approximately 14" long x 9" wide and are about 6" thick. These are marked"170 BC 3" There are also 2 more complete spiral columns that have broken into a few pieces. They could be put back together with the proper mortar. There are 6 pieces of the small curved arches. They measure approximately 11" long x 6" wide and are about 5.5" thick. These are marked"170 AC 3" There are 7 pieces of larger curved arches. They measure approximately 14" long x 6" wide and are about 5.5" thick. These are also marked"170 AC 3" There are 2 matching pieces with the curved finial. These are approximately 12" wide and 17-20" long. The large center headstone measures approximately 26"x19" and is 8.5" tall. There are 15 other pieces that I couldn't use when I set these up for the photos or are fragmented. Everything is pictured though. I've shown a yard stick in a number of pictures to try and reference the size of these pieces. There are enough curved pieces to set up a circle

Beautiful Vintage Carved Wood Pediment Angel or Cherub in Center Over Door? I didn’t have a lot of time to shop this week because of visiting relatives. But I found some awesome pieces regardless, and I’ll be going to my favorite flea market this weekend, so I’ll have a boatload of items, fingers crossed, that will be new. I appreciate your business! This is a beautiful piece. What I have is a vintage carved wood pediment- with carved scrolls and what appear to be tulip flowers and what I believe to be either an angel or a cherub in the center. With rays around its head. This is a piece that can stand alone- but you could certainly hang it on a wall too, if you wanted to add hardware to do so. I'm showing in several photos that the back piece is actually made up of two pieces of wood(you can see the seam at the back, and under the face, ... moreit's hard to notice really anywhere, though, unless you are looking for it) and the face is applied to the top of the backpiece. It's hard to tell for sure, as there are no spots of finish wear to see with any certainty, but I do believe that the face is made from wood also. It feels and thunks like wood to me, but please supersize my photos and see what you think. It is painted a creamy white color(not white white, it has more cream to it than white-white) and you can see at the back that there appears to be a former color of gold on the piece- that's lots of peeks of the gold at the back, but not at the front. There are small spots of finish wear on the front of the piece- hence the"shabby" in my title, but they are small- there's no large spots of finish loss. The back was not ever painted for show, but you can see that it has some paint on it, both the white and the gold. The piece measures 32 1/2" long, 5 7/8" tallest at the center and the wood is 1" at its thickest on either end, and 2 1/2" thick at the face part- from the very back to the highest point on the face. Original. Solid walnut, architectural header. Saw tooth trim along the bottom with railing along the top. Nice, Eastlake spoon carved pinwheels to the left and right with classic center flower and leaves in the middle. Parallel grooved trim both vertical and horizontal everywhere, including those that go around to the side views. Except for an imperfect finish, it is in wonderful condition with no breaks, repairs, or missing pieces. Great chance to steal a bargain on a high quality piece! This is a superb large 19thc domed pierced oak wood pediment with a thistle centrally carved. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very intricate. Thistle carved to centre of pediment with leaf and flower pattern surrounding. Retains traces of old paint. Measures 8" max height x 42.25" length. This carved pediment is in excellent and age commensurate condition. There is an old split at end of border of carving but this does not affect the stability of the pediment at all. Set of 2 Antique Mahogany Headers ~ Pediments Each measures 31" across Sides gently curve into the scroll design Condition: There is no damage to either piece. However, as shown in photo, one piece does not lay completely flat. This may be fixed by exposing the wood to moisure and applying weight to reset in place. Also, both could use some touch-up to the finish(see last photo) where there is wear. Also an easy fix with a dab of Conditioning Stain. There are no breaks. Cracks or chips. It was originally gold and I have painted it with an ivory chalk paint, distressed it so a little of the gold shows through, then hand rubbed it in a protective clear wax.
