This is a superb 1th century gothic wood carved pediment of the Green Man. An exceptionally fine carved pediment of the Green Man. The wood may be a walnut retaining some original gilding to back of pediment. Really stunning relief carved detail of the Green Man with ornate and detailed scrolling to the arms of pediment. This is a superb mid 19th century gothic oak pediment with the Green Man head carved centrally and with scrolling acanthus leaf to either side of the head. Dating c.1850. Excellent relief carved detail to the Green Man head with deep set eyes and prominent cheek bones. Fine facial detail to this pediment. Measures some 3.5" max height x 20.75" length. Excellent age commensurate condition with some age damage to the wood at the very end of pediment. Nothing which detracts from this fine carving. All as per images.
