I'found' this in my barn- hanging in the rafters were I was placing gable ... morepediments. I thought for the longest time I had this piece listed- but alas it was not. I bought this piece about 5 or 6 years ago. Has a great checkered design in the triangle pediment area- the green paint is creak. Nice crackled finish. The top of the peak is unpainted- it must have been covered as the green paint was NEVER applied to the piece. The bottom edge needs to be trimmed- it has some soft spots on it- I tried to capture this in the pictures. I would estimate about 1 to 1.5" needs to be trimmed on the bottom edge for a smooth. Even edge. Measures 108.5" long is 39" at peak& 8.5" deep. Old square nails are studding the backside also. Has metal flashing on top edge. VERY PRETTY victorian gable pediment. This is one of the more ornate pieces of gingerbread gable design I've had the pleasure of owning. I bought this years ago& used it as a decor piece- not too heavy- Solid Has old crusty. Flaking white paint. I did spray this with two coats of flat rustoleum lacquer years ago to stabilize the paint surface. Measures 123" long is 27.25" at peak- it measures 1.75" thick. I had this hanging in a vaulted ceiling with a similar but not identical pitch- enjoyed this piece- looking to pass it on for someone else to own! Hello again. Fellow collectors! This week I am listing VINTAGE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE. You are bidding on ONE VINTAGE VICTORIAN GABLE PEDIMENT. These were salvaged from an old late 1800's Iowa two story Victorian farm house that was torn down. They measure 7 feet across at the base. Approximately 4 feet tall to fit a 12/12 pitched gable. Made from 3/4" Ponderosa pine stock. Currently they are painted, I can strip them for an extra cost(but not until springtime when things warm up) I can add more pictures of the other two if need be but I have to dig them out first. They are the same in detail, the paint is different, I know one is all green) Compare to similar pediments listed on eBay for sale. Shipping paid by buyer and will have to be calculated according to which carrier used and quantity bought. I put $80 simply as a random number ... moresince I have to show SOMETHING before I can list this. It could cost more or less. Buyer please contact me to work out those details.
