This is sometimes called a"Broken Arch Pediment" The center section probably had a turned wood finial but some did not. The layered and curved crown molding create a wonderful decorative effect and pieces similar to this are often used as overdoor decoration. The front(the side you want to display) is in relatively good condition. The back side appears to have rested on a damp floor and has some deterioration. Please look closely at the photos to determine if you can use a piece in this condition. Questions are always welcome. For auction. A 19th-century solid walnut pediment with classical shell motif. It measures 15" across the base and 5 3/4" wide at center. The width is 1 3/4" across the top and 1" at the sides. This architectural salvage piece is covered with acanthus scrolls and berry vines. The wood finish does show lots of wear. The two pegs have been removed, and two old nails are left instead. 2 Antique Wood Pediments Furniture Pieces? Could Use For Shelf Brackets WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! I'm not quite sure what these two beautiful pieces came from. But I took one look, and I saw some beautiful make do shelf brackets- don't you agree? Each one is made of solid wood, and I do believe that it is oak, although the patina is so dark, check out and see what you think. They are exact matches in size and style- and if you decide to use them as shelf brackets, each would sit with the design side out as I have in photo 4. They both have a scrolly raised design on the outside that is very art nouveau to me, and they measures each 4 1/4" wide by 3/4" thick at the top/wide end, 2 1/2" by 3/4" thick at the ... moreshort end/bottom, and 5 7/8" tall. Each one weighs 1/2 lb. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with a fair amount of wear in scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings and cracks that do not move, in addition to general finish wear. Both have a hole on the long back end(the 5 7/8" side) that goes all the way through, but no hole on the top, so you would need to create one to affix to your shelf. The finish shows alligatoring from age, and the patina is dark and rich- please supersize and look at all. The decorated side, the short bottom, and the front side that follows the curve of the pieces are finished the same, while the opposite side of the decorated side, the flat back side and the 4 1/4" long top side are stained, but don't appear to be varnished. I'm showing in photos 17& 18 that there's a 1" by 1/4" chip/surface crack at the long top flat side of one of them- it's close to the screw hole that's there, and there's no movement by it at all- and I pressed pretty hard, so it is secure. I think they are two lovely old pieces, that deserve another chance at life. To a good home only. Customer satisfaction

2 Lovely Vintage Heavy Brass Decorative Pediments Look Like Curtain Tie Backs WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! I'm not quite cure what this old pair started out life as. But they remind me(in design) of a pair of curtain tie backs- a tied ribbon look on the top with two tassels falling from them- don't you think too? The thing is, they are flat on the back, with no hooks or hardware that would turn them into tie backs- each has two screw mounting holes and that's it. They were made to decorate, and that's certainly what you can do with them- as you please! It's a matching set- the only difference being one is shinier brass- and the other- that's the one on the left- is less shiny. It's almost got more of a copper ... morecolor to it- I don't know if that's just the aged brass, or if they could possibly be copper with a brass finish? I think it's the first one, but please supersize and see what you think- I'm showing you a close up in photo 15. Sometimes the old patinas make it tricky. It's one of the other, as a magnet does not stick to them, and they are not pot metal, for sure. Each on weighs a smidge under 3/4 lb, so they are fairly heavy, and each one measures 7 7/8" tall by 3 1/8" widest and 7/8" at their thickest- the center of the bow. Other than the patina differences, they are in excellent solid and sturdy condition. No issues that I can find at all. They are both dusty/dirty, and could use I good cleaning, I do not mess with or clean as found patina. They are really pretty- I can't wait to hear what you will do with them! 1888 building metal facade
This metal facade was removed from store front built in 1888- There is very little rust. Approx. 10' long x 50" tall, I am guessing that it is approx. 14-16 ga. steel. STUNNING Antique 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Double Koi Fish WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! Well. If there was ever a listing where I just wanted to say nothing, and let my photos say it all, this would be the one. But I'm guessing you might want at least a little more details: so here goes. This is probably one of the most drop-dead-gorgeous antique pediment pieces I have sold. It literally stopped me in my tracks. Now, I don't know if these came off of a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece, but it has a 1" diameter hole in the center that I'm showing in photo 5, that goes all the way through, and I'm assuming that has something to do with what it once was, or how it was mounted. The piece is hand carved ... moreinto the imat of two Koi fish facing away from each other. On either end, in front of the Kois' mouths are grapes and leaves also hand carved. It weighs 6 1/4 lbs, and it is 21 1/4" long, 5 1/4" highest and 3 5/8" deepest. The back is flat, not carved, and the underside allows the piece to stand securely, upright and straight, as in my photos. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The patina is very very dark from age. I'm not 100% certain, but I THINK the wood may be oak- that's from looking at the backside, but it's dark and hard to see the grain, so please supersize and see what you think. The finish shows wear, and lots of alligatoring in certain spots, like I'm showing in photo 8. There's a couple of small nicks- on that I'm showing in photo 6- it's on a scale on the right fish and it looks newer as it's lighter. It's very shallow- at first, I thought it was just finish wear, but it's a shallow nick that measures 1/8" long. I'm showing another shallow chip that is on the underside of the piece in photo 8- on the end of the underside. It is either really old, or it may be original to the carving

GORGEOUS SOLID WALNUT FURNITURE PEDIMENT
Up for bid is this recently found solid walnut furniture pediment. With nice looking burled walnut raised panels and a nice, though incomplete keystone in the center. The overall dimensions of this pediment are 36" in length x 12" high and has a profile of about 3" deep. Beautiful carving flanks the center burled walnut panels with the burled keystone in center. Nicely put together with a nice arch adorning the overall look and will cap off a nice buffet, server or some other piece of furniture in your home that might be calling out for such a handsome piece. The pediment is as found, and it appears that there may have been something further that originally sat atop of the keystone cartouche at center. I don't have anything that at present that would match the overall proportions of this piece, otherwise I woud have added ... moresomething to it to finish it off. There is one small spot of burled walnut veneer, located on the left flanking panel, which I have taken a picture of, so that you can see, how minor it is. Rustic Primitive Vintage Iron Pediment Baluster or? Oak Leaves& Acorns Black Busybusybusy treasure hunting week for you. I shopped at a closing antique store. Went to the flea market, and still have some items from the weeks ago farm estate auction- there’s lots of neat stuff that you don‘t want to miss! The mighty oak is one of my favorite trees. So I never pass up a gorgeous old acron or oak leaf. This piece- I think that it is made of both iron and steel. It's an old architectural piece, and I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it reminds me of the old stair balusters- like the kind that you'd find on the front steps going up to the door with the rail. There's a heavy/thicker outside frame that I do believe is iron. It's made from two long pieces, each having one"finger" for lack of a better word that ... moresticks out at the short end- so one finger on each end, and the fingers are 2 1/2" long- clearly once used to connect to whatever they connected to. Then, inside the iron frame, you have another frame that is attached- running the perimeter of the iron frame, it has the decorative design of oake leaves and acorns on the inside. This piece, I think is steel- and I don't know if it's cast, or pressed, but my guess is pressed into shape because you can see the details of the leaves/acorns on both sides of the piece- but there's clearly a front side and a backside. I'm showing you fist the front side details and then the backside details in my photos. The frame measures 19 1/2" long(not including the fingers- just under 25" long in total including the fingers) by 7 3/8" wide. You can see that the two sides of the frame are not attached at the ends- see photo X. I think that this is not original, I think that this may have occured(and it's like this on both sides) when the piece was removed from whatever it was attached to before. You can push on those two open spots and get them to move slightly back and forth. It doesn't affect the center

This is a superb 19th century architectural pediment of an American eagle in plaster with gesso over and mounted on wood. Excellent and lovely attention to detail. The eagle has wings outspread with fine detailing to the bird- gilded gesso over plaster. The eagle sits over a wreath of leaves which are arranged in an semi-circular arc. Measures some 6" max x overall length of 13" Excellent and age commensurate condition with some age flaking to gilded gesso in places and a bit of damage to the plaster at leaf arc- nothing of significance. A superb collectable 19th century pediment of an American eagle. Antique Architectural Salvage Pediment Hand Carved and Inlaid Floral Design
Description: Here is a gorgeous pediment that came from the estate of a well-to-do Hartford CT woman who loved to collect beautiful items. This item came from an upstairs storage closet with other antiques and architectural elements that the woman had bought in 1983 when she was planning on building a summer house on Long Island Sound. The invoice showed that she paid $450 for it over 30 years ago. Supposedly it had been carved and inlaid by a well known Connecticut carver but her niece could not remember who for sure. It appears to be carved from two layers of solid mahogany and then two pieces at either end appear to have been nicely inlaid with boxwood in a floral pattern. The carvings are deep and wonderfully done and you can even still see the chisel marks on the top edge which would not have been seen. There are all the usual marks. ... moreNicks and stuff you would expect to see on a piece of this age as well as a nibble from each end of the bottom. The color and glow of the patina is just first rate as you can tell from looking at my photos. Reclaimed 1800's Architectural exterior Oak Pediment
This Antique Pediment(header) was reclaimed from a house built in the 1860's that was torn down. The corbels I have listed came from the same home. This home was historic in that it was an underground railroad stop along the Ohio River in my home town. Just prior to the home being torn down I was able to purchase a few architectural items that I reclaimed and repurposed. Since that time my decor has changed and these items no longer work. This pediment was repurposed as a coat rack and is ready to hang for the same purpose. Given the fact that it is oak. The buyer may wish to strip the many layers of paint and show the original wood. Huge Vintage Hand Carved Pediment
I have up for auction this long pine pediment. It is 51" 3/4 inch's long. At it's widest point it is 6" 3/4 inch's. And is 3/4 inch's thick. This pc. is all solid, any lines you may see are just that carved lines, no cracks. I left the mounting blocks on the back and that increases it to 1" 1/2 inch's thick in those spots. The original finish is still on the pc. some like it some don't. Age. And sunlight have taken it's toll on that. I have taken pics. of areas of concern. Which are small, or even hidden. GORGEOUS & VERY ORNATE SOLID WALNUT FURNITURE PEDIMENT
Up for bid is a large. No make that a long gorgeous solid walnut furniture pediment, believed to be from the mid to late 1890's. This furniture pediment stands about 9" high x 72" in length and has a profile of about 2" deep at the top. There is one minor crack, though in no way takes away from the loveliness and the overall grace of this spectacular piece. There is also a small screw that protrudes out of the bottom of the pediment, down in the center if you look close. I've tried to remove it, but to do so, would mean removing some of the wood to the pediment, so I'll leave that up to the winning bidder to do as he or she chooses. A fabulous piece with all it's splendid carving of flowers and such all across this stunning pediment. Looking from the reverse, there is a chip of wood missing on the back, however, ... moreit in no way takes away from the look of the front. But held with the bracket. it can sit atop itself but can swing all the way down also. see all photos. each piece is a broken piece of the garden gate. can imagine the garden. must have been spectactular. there are four smaller pieces and two larger ones. the small ones measure between 19" and 13" tall. and just about 10 1/2" wide. the tallest one measures a tall 31" tall. just about 10 1/2" wide. the second tallest one is 24" tall. same width. the range in weight from 14 pounds to 6 pounds. they are just spectacular and can be used in so many ways. g
ANTIQUE PAINTED CAROUSEL PANEL ARCHITECTURAL FLORAL PAINTING
This amazing architectural piece is a panel from an antique carousel.Featuring tons of flowers and a lovely lady in a pink gown. It has graced my porch for a decade and I have no idea how many decades before that it graced an old time Merry-Go-Round. I would guess this is from the turn of the century give or take 20 years. I have never attempted to clean this but it could use it. There is a great deal of craqueleure but that is to be expected from age and the elements. It has some damage to the upper right corner as shown. The piece is very heavy and has 2 strong metal brackets that attached it to the carousel as well as screw eyes with wire to hang it on the wall with. It is an eye catching work of art from a bygone era and surely one of a kind. We are moving and unfortunately have no place for it at our new house. I found this 10 1/2" by 8" by 4" thick tile buried in an over-grown garden of an estate sale on Long Island. One side is marked"ATLANTIC" and the other has various numbers on it- 2640" what appears to be"AX/ and"281" The block has never actually been installed, as there are no mortar remnants around the edges, but the face has a few dings and some paint splatter on it. This furniture part or topper. Pediment etc is old but I have no date. Otherwise it is in excellent condition; wood appears to be black walnut, chestnut, or similar type dark hardwood. Size is 27" long by 4 inches high. About 1 inch thick. I bought this in New England for a project and know nothing other than the above about this piece. Blue paint looks like a recent addition, I think this piece would be much prettier stripped and refinished to show off the nice wood.

Here is a most wonderful pair of gargoyle shaped garden ornaments rescued from an old house by a salvage company. This is a great set of architectural salvage for your home or garden. And a superb example of lavish ornament not often seen here, consisting of 2 highly detailed winged gargoyles sitting upright on lion paw feet as columns or caryatids, with molded details kiln fired into a large heavy 2 piece installation for a fireplace or building ornament. Measures 27" x 12" each gargoyle weighs a massive 31 pounds unpacked. On close inspection, these pieces may have been manufactured originally as garden ornaments, but it is difficult to say with certainty. This is a an exceptional carved oak pediment or panel with a large carved Griffin or Lion face center medallion. It measures aprox. 37 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" high x 3" deep. No missing carvings but there are three breaks in the carvings, just to the right of his chin, on the far right and another on the right side as well, we provided pictures that show these areas. ANTIQUE WALNUT VICTORIAN SPOON CARVED VINTAGE FRETWORK CORNICE FURNITURE PEDIMENT A lovely. Antique, Eastlake Victorian furniture pediment that appears to be made out of walnut. It has spoon carved decoration with has traces of gold still inside. There are spools that decorated each side and woodwork that looks like a crown. This lovely furniture pediment measures approximately 48" long x 6 1/4" high on each end and about 6 1/2" in the middle. There is about a 3" slope from the top flat part, down to the front of the spools. It appears that the blocks, in the middle next to the spools, were added recently. One of the points of the crown, in the middle, is missing and the scallop on one end is missing the top. A couple of other scallops have some damage to the wood that is not really that noticeable. There is a metal ring ... moreon each side for hanging, two screws in the back that were probably used to attach it to a piece of furniture, and the front has two nails in the wood, where someone must have hung something. One of the spools has a broken part that was probably done when the new block was added(not noticeable) Despite the flaws, this is still a very beautiful, antique, Victorian Cornice that will look great being hung and enjoyed. Vintage Carousel Architectural Cherub Topper
Measures 16 feet wide by 7 feet tall and 4 feet deep in the center. It does show worn paint and one of the cherubs arms has been repaired. It weighs approx 800 lbs. You would be responsible for handling the shipping though I would be happy to assist your shipper of choice as to hours of when they could pick it up. I would also be willing to store it for a short period of time until you can arrange pick up. This piece was used in one of the older casinos here over an entrance. I'm not sure if the casino had it made for that specific use or if it was originally off a carousel.
