Four Antique Polychromed Terracotta Tiles from Chicago Architectural Salvage
Old tiles from a building in Chicago or the area in very good condition. They are 15" square and around 5" thick. Three have original brick and mortar fill used to attach to the original building. I did not try to remove for fear of damaging the tiles. So those three tiles are very heavy. I am able to deliver for the cost of gas within 40 miles of Chicago or hold until you can pick them up/arrange for shipping. Lovely Antique Circa 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Piece I have to tell you about the auction that I went to this week. It was in Geneva Illinois. In a sandstone building that was built before the Civil War. The sale was the final liquidation of an antique store(they‘d had one previous auction- so much stuff, they had to have two) that used to operate out of this location- but the building has been closed, as well as the business, for over 20 years following the passing of the previous owners. Now, we’re talking two stories, an attic and a basement PACKED with antiques- it’s hard to imagine, and all of it just sitting for two decades. These folks had amassed a huge antique collection- many many items dating back to the early 1800s and before. There’s some gorgeous pieces of primitive Americana that I found. I can’t tell you how excited ... moreI am to be listing my treasures from the sale. I will be listing them for weeks to come. I also have the last of my farm auctions and South Dakota finds listed this week, so there’s something for everyone! I was saying in one of my other listings how I bought a whole large box filled with a mixture of old antique hand carved pediments at the auctiion- I'll be listing them for weeks. So be sure to keep checking. This one is soooo pretty- and, it has one nail sticking out the back which I've left where it is, because I want you to see that it is an old forged iron sqaure nail. I don't know if this piece came off of a larger architectural piece, or if it was a piece of furniture, but whatever it was, it was grand, for sure. Measuring 5 1/8" widest, it is 8 1/8"tallest and 1 3/4" thickest. It weighs 1/2 lb and is all hand carved out of one solid piece of wood. The finish is beautiful on this one- a little dusty(it needs a cleaning, I have not cleaned it orr messed with the as found patina in any way) but really, with veryvery little wear that can be seen. I'm in love with the feet of the bird- I just can't stop looking at them- the carving is incredible. I purchased a whole box full of old carved pediments removed from their original home- some reallyreally stunning pieces. So you'll want to keep checking in the next coulple of weeks. Although this fella has some damage, I just couldn't let that get in the way of how beaitiful he is. Now, I don't know if he came off of a piece of furniture, or was part of an architectural wall piece, but wherever he lived, it was grand for sure. Antique Architectural Marble Pediment from a Church in Western Pennsylvania. Fantastic antique marble pediment that came from a church in western Pennsylvania. The piece is in very good original condition with age appropriate wear. There is a metal piece imbedded in the back that was presumably originally used to attach it to the building. The piece stands up on its own. But would also be beautiful mounted to a wooden or metal block. The piece weighs about 20 lbs. Cast Aluminum Antique Pediment Greek Hero Perseus Wall Sculpture signed Royal
This is a Cast Aluminum Bust/ Sculpture of Greek Hero Perseus. Son of Zeus. It was crafted by Royal sometime in the 60's or 70's. The figure is heavily and intricately sculpted and measures 3 inches in depth at its thickest point. Measuring approximately 17 inches in height and 10inches in width, the sculpture is cast from heavy duty, thick aluminum and designed to be used out of doors and to withstand the elements. The company which made it, Royal Brand, was known for outdoor plaques, numbers, and building embellishments.

Antique wood colonial window door PEDIMENTS - set of 2
Rare. Unusual architectural antiques. VERY hearvy, thick, completely original, mixed woods and veneers. I've never seen any quite like them. We have had them in the last 8 attics hoping to redo an old historical home one day. What can I say? WE are"antique" now and need to pass these treasures on to someone younger who can do them justice in a home. They could be incorporated into other areas, but I imagine were intended to be PEDIMENTS over big windows and/or doors way back when. Please study the photos to see just what you would be getting. They are both quite sturdy. But could use refinishing and reinforcing. There is a small area of very OLD termite damage as shown on one of them, but otherwise all there, not damaged. a LOCAL sale(Austin, Tx area) would be ideal, of course, so you could inspect them personally. But WILLING ... moreto ship to other areas so long as you understand they are very OLD antiques, NOT reproductions in perfect condition. You should NOT be disappointed in them, as they are pretty amazing. But you have to know antiques. We could SHIP them UPS anywhere in lower US for $35 EACH. Or $65 for BOTH TOGETHER. MEASUREMENTS: Each individual pediment is 56 1/2 inches WIDE. 9 1/2 inches TALL, and 4 3/4 inches THICK. I put hubbie holding them in order to give you an idea how LARGE and massive they are. Antique Victorian window box valences with female carved heads. They are wood with gesso type material forming decorations. Offering a set of 3 valences(50" wide X 6" deep X 14" tall. They came out of an old Victorian estate in Massachusetts. They are not in perfect condition as there are some medallions missing as well as a several chips in the gold finish. I have most of the missing medallions and the other areas can be restored. These would look fantastic in an old Victorian or Colonial style home. Please rely on photos for cosmetic condition. Any other determination would be speculative. They are being offered as is and must be picked up. I will work with you in terms of meeting you halfway as long as it is in the New York Metro Area and must be paid for in advance. I will not ship the item.

The crown at the top is nicely shaped with Eastlake Spoon Carvings The ends have nice carved leaves. The center has 3 carved flowers and 2 raised panels. It would be great above a door or window. Each measures 39.75 inches wide. 8.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches thick. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Lovely Primitive Antique Solid Wood Architectural Pediment Piece I have to tell you about the auction that I went to this week. It was in Geneva Illinois. In a sandstone building that was built before the Civil War. The sale was the final liquidation of an antique store(they‘d had one previous auction- so much stuff, they had to have two) that used to operate out of this location- but the building has been closed, as well as the business, for over 20 years following the passing of the previous owners. Now, we’re talking two stories, an attic and a basement PACKED with antiques- it’s hard to imagine, and all of it just sitting for two decades. These folks had amassed a huge antique collection- many many items dating back to the early 1800s and before. There’s some gorgeous pieces of primitive Americana that I found. I can’t tell you how excited ... moreI am to be listing my treasures from the sale. I will be listing them for weeks to come. I also have the last of my farm auctions and South Dakota finds listed this week, so there’s something for everyone! Here's a sweet old architectural pediment for you- I just have the one. But it packs a punch of primitive charm. Made of solid wood, it has raised relief detail in the center that is oh-so-pretty. It measures 7" by 4 7/8" by 5/8" thick and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The two long sides are stained, and the two short sides are not, so that is clearly where they were attached- to a piece of molding, I'm guessing. You can see old dried adhesive on the backside from when it was in place. There's rustic wear to the wood ahd finish- scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings, nibbles, a small chip on one side that I'm showing in a close up. You could polish or put some stain on to diminish- but I wouldn't change a thing- it's primitively perfect to me! Please ask if you have any questions. Beautiful carved scroll design, heavily antique style bronze tone gilding. Made of what appears lightweight soft wood or wood resin, purchased back in the 1980's and may need some additional dusting. Measurements are approx. 15" in length. 8 1/2" in width(at the top) up to 1 1/8" thick and both weighing just under 1 lb. Gorgeous Old Vintage Carved Turned Wood Pediment Post Ladies Faces OKAY. Listing new items from loooots of places this week- we went up to Antiques on the Bluff in beautiful St. Joseph Michigan as we always do this time of year, and I found some really unique oldees. I'm also still listing items from the Route 127 sale in Ohio, and the antique store auction- sososo many cool things- you'll want to keep checking! This one is such a curiosity to me! I don't know if it was made to be an architectural pediment. Or a furniture pediment, but it appears to me as if it was made an never used. How sad, don't you think, because it is a hands-down gorgeous one of a kind piece. Now, I'm calling it old vintage in my title, but I do believe that it could be old enough to be antique. I purchased some very cool and very old antique pediments ... moreat the antique store auction. This is one of my favorites. It's carved from one piece of solid turned wood- you can see the marks on either end from the turning, and the carving is of two lady's heads- one upside down, depending upon how you tunn it. The detail is exquisite- please supersize and look at all of my photos. It doesn't appear to have ever been stained or varnished- the dark color of the patina is natural, I do believe. That being said, I do think that it looks lighter in my photos on my screen than it does to the eye. It measures 2 3/4" wide, 3 3/4" deep and 13 3/4" tall. It's heavy, weighing a smidge under 2 lbs. The back as wells as the ends are flat. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's minor small cracks to the wood where there is no movement at all. There's some teenie nicks and nibbles to the wood- and one that looks like it could have been a fallen out knot, or original- I'm showing it in photo 6 and it's on one of the ends.
