This is a superb mid 19thc mahogany wood pediment. Dating c.1860. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very beautiful. The pediment is ornately and intricately carved with fine scrolling and pierced detail. To the centre the pediment has a leaf carved centrally with horned shaped carvings flanking. The arms of the pediment has scrolling and acanthus leaf detail- all carving in relief. Measures 13.75" max height x 37.25" length.
