I purchased the pieces at an estate sale years ago. The pieces measures 17" tall by 8" wide across the bottom by 1-1/4 inch thick There are holes in the bottom for a wood peg attachment and holes in the"S" curve where something was once attached. I'm not sure what the wood is. But I think it may be mahogany. The condition is good. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs to the pieces. There are some scratches. Rubs and marks on the finish. Antique Architectural Salvage Wood Mahogany Shabby French Chic Wall Door Header
Up for sale is a salvaged mahogany wood door header or wall décor piece. I purchased this from an architectural salvage warehouse in Cleveland. OH. It was solid mahogany wood with a beautiful wreath with ribbon carving on it. I took it home, cleaned it up and painted a creamy white coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint on it. I only very slightly distressed and detailed the carving and edging of the piece with gold applique paint. It is so pretty! Appx 1/2" width. 16"H and 36"L. Check out my other estate items. Antique Victorian 16.5" English Wooden Shell Motif Pediment Walnut / Mahogany
This is an Antique/ Vintage 16 1/2" Wooden Shell Motif Pediment. The pediment was purchase in England. We assume it was probably made there. But we do not know for sure, nor do we know specifically what its age is, but appears to us to likely be 19th Century Victorian era piece. The pediment definitely appears to be hardwood. The appearance of the grain strongly suggests the wood in probably walnut but it could possibly be mahogany or other hardwood. The pediment a great looking piece with a graceful. Very deeply carved shell design. We do not know for sure what specific type of piece it was originally part of. The measurements of the pediment excluding the 3/8" pad at the top center and the two pegs on the bottom are 16 1/2" wide x 6 1/4" high x 3 11/16" wide. The pediment is built up from three layers of wood as ... moreseen in the photo of the top. The pad on top is 3/8" tall with a 7/8" deep x 7/8" diameter hole where the peg for a finial was inserted. As found. The finial was no longer present and the pediment is offered as found in that regard. The two pins on the bottom are 3/4" long x 3/4" in diameter. The pins are on 11 1/4" centers. The pediment is a very solid. Substantial piece and it weighs about three pounds. Condition The pediment is in excellent condition with beautiful. Uniform finish, and no chips or other damage. The only, very, very minor issue I noticed is a couple of tiny circular white paint droplets on the back as seen on the photo of the back. Antique Wood pediment Art Nouveau crown ornament Mahogany
The vintage/ antique wood pediment is made of what looks like mahogany or dark stained cherry wood and has a great art nouveau curved overlapping design The pediment is 14.25 inches across by 7 inches high in center and overall about 9 inches high when the lower curved arms are added; it is an inch deep.There are a couple slight scratches in finish on lower left and has a number of pin prick white dots on the surface The pediment is nicely carved and there is no damage or repaires and color is VG check out the other architectural pieces listed seperatly.
