I purchased the pieces at an estate sale years ago. The pieces measures 17" tall by 8" wide across the bottom by 1-1/4 inch thick There are holes in the bottom for a wood peg attachment and holes in the"S" curve where something was once attached. I'm not sure what the wood is. But I think it may be mahogany. The condition is good. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs to the pieces. There are some scratches. Rubs and marks on the finish. This is a superb mid 19thc mahogany wood pediment. Dating c.1860. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very beautiful.
