Beautiful Oak Pediment with carved leaves and burl embellishments. Also Eastlake spoon type carving on the ends that also have a hint of the Art Nouveau look! There is a arch in the middle that shows that it is attached with dowels. Not nails. Also the top(or could be the bottom if you like) has a ledge that is 1 5/8" wide. This pediment has some of the most unusual characteristics I have ever seen. The header has a wonderfully carved serpentine top. There are very ornate side carvings, and then those round metal grommets all along the pediment. Looks almost Medieval or Gothic with that Victorian twist.
