This is a large European. French Fleur De Lis style crest. It is heavy iron and is designed to be welded into gates and fences. This is original quality architectural cast iron and will last a lifetime. This piece has been sitting around a long time down here on the Gulf Coast. It is covered with a rusty patina. HAND WROUGHT ANTIQUE IRON PANEL / GATE / PEDIMENT
This is a very nice hand wrought iron panel or gate that comes from an entry door of a home in Egypt. It was the top portion or pediment. The door was aprox. 100 years old. It measures aprox. 34 1/2" wide x 19" high x 1/2" deep. We have some other similar panels presently listed as well. There is some remnant of a broken iron piece on center in back(see photos# 10-11) Measures overall: 20.90" long x 7" tall" Has(4) four slightly recessed mounting points. 2) two on each end with 1/4" holes for mounting. Lions head extends about 1.75" in relief. Structurally in great condition- no cracks. Chips, breaks, or repairs noted. Some cosmetic wear to finish. Finely detailed. Cast iron pediment featuring swirls of oak leaves, branches and acorns. Each of the leaves measure about 5" long and each of the four acorns are 1 3/4" long. Would look great over a door or window, or over a mirror or picture. It's unpainted; just nicely polished metal. All cast iron. Weighing approximately 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 25 5/8" long by 7 3/8" tall by 11/16" deep at the base. There are two holes, 5" in from each end, for securing the piece to a foundation.
