Old vintage victorian medieval architectural carved wooden pediment
This is a old wooden carved arch. It is in good original condition. I have two of these i will be listing the other one in another auction. I do not know what they came off from. This one is 20 1/2 long 10 1/2 tall 3 inch thick. I put some lemon oil on them because they were old and dry. Thanks for looking

AWESOME gingerbread design on this gable pediment that came out of western NY state. Has hand carved wooden relief with floral design. Bought this piece about nine years ago from a fellow salvager. Salvaged in southern Maine- GREAT circa 1820-1830 door pediment. Would make for an AWESOME head board! Antique Victorian 16.5" English Wooden Shell Motif Pediment Walnut / Mahogany
This is an Antique/ Vintage 16 1/2" Wooden Shell Motif Pediment. The pediment was purchase in England. We assume it was probably made there. But we do not know for sure, nor do we know specifically what its age is, but appears to us to likely be 19th Century Victorian era piece. The pediment definitely appears to be hardwood. The appearance of the grain strongly suggests the wood in probably walnut but it could possibly be mahogany or other hardwood. The pediment a great looking piece with a graceful. Very deeply carved shell design. We do not know for sure what specific type of piece it was originally part of. The measurements of the pediment excluding the 3/8" pad at the top center and the two pegs on the bottom are 16 1/2" wide x 6 1/4" high x 3 11/16" wide. The pediment is built up from three layers of wood as ... moreseen in the photo of the top. The pad on top is 3/8" tall with a 7/8" deep x 7/8" diameter hole where the peg for a finial was inserted. As found. The finial was no longer present and the pediment is offered as found in that regard. The two pins on the bottom are 3/4" long x 3/4" in diameter. The pins are on 11 1/4" centers. The pediment is a very solid. Substantial piece and it weighs about three pounds. Condition The pediment is in excellent condition with beautiful. Uniform finish, and no chips or other damage. The only, very, very minor issue I noticed is a couple of tiny circular white paint droplets on the back as seen on the photo of the back. This is a superb mid 19thc mahogany wood pediment. Dating c.1860. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very beautiful. The pediment is ornately and intricately carved with fine scrolling and pierced detail. To the centre the pediment has a leaf carved centrally with horned shaped carvings flanking. The arms of the pediment has scrolling and acanthus leaf detail- all carving in relief. Measures 13.75" max height x 37.25" length. This carved pediment is in excellent and lovely age commensurate condition. A small area to back at one arm where the wood is shaved. This beautiful French architectural woodenware is the perfect size to hang over a door to embellish an entrance way. Also pretty to use similar to a bed crown by handing above the bed and drape sheers or curtains from behind. This is a superb and a very unusual 18thc gothic oak wood pediment with two carved horse heads. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is wonderful. To the top of pediment is a shell with a superb horse head carved to either side. A leaf sprouts from the mouth of each horse. Large graduated carved roundel to centre of pediment with turned spindle type carving below. Floral carving on winding stem further decorated. Measures 15.25" max height x 27.25" overall length.
