They did a really nice job of making it appear to be wood with it even having 2 imitation dowels at the top. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with minimal wear with a small spot on the chin and each wing has one small hole where it was affixed to something at one time and it comes exactly as shown. I think someone has made this from parts of another piece of furniture. it does not appear to be a"factory" made production piece. therefore it is unique! it has 2 carved supports. 2 Antique Metal Architectural Art Nouveau Goddess Ladies
Offering 2 Antique architectural pieces that appear to be fashioned of brass. The pieces are 18 inches long with hollowbacks and holes in the lower end and also by the heads for nail placement. The figures are different with flowing gowns and elaborate hair styles. There are remains of old lacquer that has settled in some of the details but it looks easily removable if desired. ~ Two Antique Copper/Brass Window Valances ~ I recently brought these charming antique valences home from a wonderful original late 1800's homestead estate ~ It was classic Victorian from top to bottom and boy.What fun we all had.it was so hard to leave! Each valance is 58" long and made from a 1" thick plank that's beveled on one side similar to crown molding. Then covered with thin 15" x 4 1/4" lengths of deeply embossed/raised relief copper.carefully matched& fastened by copper tacks At first I thought perhaps it was a colored tin. But seeing that the underside has the same coppery tone(only slightly brighter) I'm thinking it's copper or a copper/brass mix Love the touches of old blue rust on the well-aged patina! Originally padded and wrapped with fabric beneath the copper. There are only tiny remnants ... morenow. Hello again. Fellow collectors! This week I am listing VINTAGE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE. You are bidding on ONE VINTAGE VICTORIAN GABLE PEDIMENT. These were salvaged from an old late 1800's Iowa two story Victorian farm house that was torn down. They measure 7 feet across at the base. Approximately 4 feet tall to fit a 12/12 pitched gable. Made from 3/4" Ponderosa pine stock. Currently they are painted, I can strip them for an extra cost(but not until springtime when things warm up) I can add more pictures of the other two if need be but I have to dig them out first. They are the same in detail, the paint is different, I know one is all green) Compare to similar pediments listed on eBay for sale. Antique Carved Wood Overdoor. Pediment Animal Forms: first of all this piece was hard to photograph as it is supposed to sit under the soffit of an armoire or mantle. It can also be used as an overdoor or pediment. The hand carved piece is made of dark hardwood, possibly mahogany. The entire piece is carved and has a bat like shape in the middle and two reclining animals on either side. The piece has been around for well over 100 years and has some minor abrasions in the front and nail holes in the top and back. Measurements are: 51 1/4" by 4 3/4" highest point and 3/4" thick.

The depth to the dado panels in this oldie are just a true testimony to the craftsmanship used to create this stunning example of Victorian architecture. But because of the proportions- it could be cut down on either end for a smaller application. The portion that does not have the gingerbread embellishment is 11 1/2" high- then it becomes 15" high where the embellishment begins- and at the highest part- it measures 18" high. This top is from an 1840's period drop leaf table and really compliments this Late 1800's industrial base with all the wheels. This drafting table is 41" x 23.75" and is 13/16" thick and made from a tree growing from the early 1700's. Table top will elevate from about 28" tall to 38" tall. Beautiful. LARGE, and detailed wall sculpture. Dates to the Mid Century and features a large, Spanish or Italian Galleon ship with very intricate, faux carved details and in very deep relief. There are rampant lions on the sails and on the crest. The crest is flanked with two cherubs and a crown in located above the crest. The vessel is grand with arched doorways. It is sitting on a large ocean wave. The sculpture is not marked but it is of the finest quality. It is very beautiful. It is in very good condition with only minor evidence of age/use.
