Spectacular original knockdown wardrobe from 120+ years ago. Original finish; well cared for since new. 48" wide; you can use it as a closet for that room that has none. 87" tall including top cornice piece- make sure it will fit before bidding! Completely disassembles with no tools- top. Middle, and base all are held together with sliding wood clamps that cleverly attach the sections. This has been in the same family since new. It was last used as a gun safe judging by the racks on the left side. Both doors lock. Beautiful oak grain with no damage anywhere. No makers mark; just the number 31 stamped on a number of pieces. No wood damage or repairs. No rot. The wardrobe comes with three doors, which are all picture frame molded and shows an unbelievable display of high quality quarter sawn oak. It comes with its own key, but the locks usually need to be adjusted and cleaned so unfortunately we are unable to guarantee locks. The best thing about this wardrobe is its size. It is 64 inches wide on the inside, 23 inches deep and 70 inches high. It has a hanging rod on the top as well as a place where you could put shelves if you so desire. This gorgeous wardrobe has plenty of space and an added bonus to it is that it is extra deep. When you close it all up, it displays wonderful tiger sawn oak panels, and picture frame molded doors which are beautiful. The three drawers underneath are all dovetailed, picture frame molded and raised paneled. The sides, as you would expect them, are all raised panel, which is a sure sign of high quality, with each side having three large panels and two small panels. Currently having several shelf papered covered shelves someone added to increase storage space, a new owner could have additional or shelves more appropriate to the age of the piece made if desired or it could simply be used for that always needed extra space to hang multiple jackets and store books, gloves, scarves and sporting equipment within a stylish yet functional old Victorian wardrobe, most recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland. This terrific four door closet stands 86 1/2 inches tall and measures 67 1/2 inches wide by 17 inches deep. Front to back. This super cherry Armoire is in good condition and is in the style of Louis Philippe. Standing on stub feet. The Armoire has a plinth drawer to the bottom with a further drawer above which is constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and has turned wooden knobs. To the inside there is a single shelf with a telescopic hanging rail below it. If required more shelves can be made for an additional £15.00 each. The cheeks of the armoire follow down to form the stylized swept feet and to the inside there are 3 shelves with the central one having a drawer below it. This is enclosed with a super pair of molded panel doors. Original Fine C19th Antique Victorian Mahogany Large Single Double Wardrobe
Here for auction we have a beautiful Victorian mahogany wardrobe dating to the second half of the 19th century. This good example of the classic Victorian wardrobe has a moulded cornice over a single large mirrored door flanked by arched panelled sides enclosing hooks and full length hanging space on a deep base drawer raised atop a plinth base. The drawer is mahogany lined with its original handles and easy to use. To the inside the original hooks are in place but a rail could be easily added and modern hangers can be accommodated. The wardrobe is in good order with the only worthy note being a small amount of `spots` to the original mirror but nothing to worry about and to expected.
