Unfortunately someone has cut a small hole in the back of the piece, but this could easily be repaired. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece. It features a gorgeous crown molding around the top that is finished with an ornately carved pediment at the center for a majestic finished look. The piece also features a carving at the center front bottom, capped with a shell motif at the base of the carving at the top. The armoire has the original metal hanging rod still inside which is most likely made of brass.

Authentic Antique Heavily Carved Wood Shutter Figural Horses and Tiger Carvings
Authentic Antique Chinese wooden house shutter. Deeply carved and pierce carved with a tiger and horses. 37" by 12" The tiger panel has warped and does not fit tight in the grooves. It also has writing on the back that I can't decipher.see photos) These were marketed by Horchow's Catalog in the late 90's and they provided a Certificate of Antiquity issued by HONG KONG ART CRAFT MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION. Dated 1997. They sold them for around $1100. each back then. This is one of two that I have listed.

Antique Victorian Style Mauve Sofa with Ornate Carvings - needs restoration
Antique sofa being sold in"as is" condition. This mauve velvet sofa was purchased at an estate sale more than forty years ago by a late family member. She was told that it was empire style and that it from was the late 1880s. Over the years. This couch was well used and loved. It must be sold. As you can see, it is in need of some serious restoration. The couch no doubt will need to be recoverd. The arms have terrible fraying and you can see the material underneath the velvet. The wood. Which I am not sure if it is mahogany or walnut, needs to be re-stained and some areas of the wood may be fillers. In many areas, it has a"rough" feel. The cushions all have broken zippers and at one time the stuffing was replaced with some cheapy stuff. One of the legs were repaired at one time(see photo- a poor job) Also, the velvet on ... morethe cushions have fray marks as well as one the actual soft. The photos pretty much show all the work needed to get this sofa back in shape. The carving is very pretty and detailed. As you can see, the couch is framed around the back, arms and bottom as well as around the sides of the back. Measurements: 75 inches in length- 31 inches in depth- 37 inches in the back at its highest. I am unable to ship this item- I cannot imagine packing something like this. I listed it on some antique furniture sites and these are the responses I got: It looks like a 1930s deco-moderne sofa in a Renaissance-Revival or a Romantic-Revival style. could be victorian or a victorian copy 1920- 1940" Looks like mid 1800s(1850-1880) Victorian overstuffed settee with chair. Lot of Two Vintage Antique Chinese Soap Stone Figurines / Figures / Carvings
This listing is for a LOT OF TWO antique Chinese soapstone figures! I don't know very much about them as they were given to me by a friend to sell. So any information would be appreciated. The first figure is a BEAUTIFULLY carved green soapstone figure of an old man in a headdress holding an object(I'm not sure what the object is. Possibly a fish or a flower? He measures approx. 11 and a half inches tall by four inches in diameter. And is attached to a carved stone stand. He looks like he may have possibly been carved by hand and I have been unable to find any others exactly like him. The sticker on the bottom is water damaged but seems to imply he was sold for 400-500 dollars at some point. I cannot find any flaws or breakage, he seems to be in perfect condition! Terrific detailing on the face and clothing folds! The second figure ... moreis a carving of a old chinese man sitting on a stand wearing a large crown or headdress and holding what looks like a scroll. He measures approx 6 and a half inches tall by four inches wide. And has terrifically detailed clothing that looks like it may have been hand carved. He is in good condition other than it looks like part of his nose may have chipped off? Though this may have been an intentional look by the artist.
