It has an elaborately carved floral and scroll crown and sides. Below the doors is a carved drawer as shown in the photos. It stands on carved cabriole legs and scrolled feet. Three adjustable shelves come with the armoire. As with all antique armoires. Wood supports can be placed in any of the carved slots running the entire length of the piece inside. Impressive Louis XV mahogany armoire or wardrobe. This large piece has tons of storage space behind its three doors. Mirrors with bevelled edges and ornately carved wooden panels give this piece an amazing decorative look. A gracefully curved top is capped by an intricately carved finial. Skirted fronts and short cabriole legs lift it off the ground and keep the armoire from feeling heavy despite its size. This piece can be dismantled for moving. Overall. The armoire is in good condition. The two side mirrors have some noticable silver loss. Example pictured. There are also some small dents and dings to the wood. This is a very nice 3 door wardrobe circa 1900. Made in France or Possibly Italy as a lot of there furniture were very similar. The condition is very good. Its pollard oak and walnut with satinwood marquetry inlay to each door to the side, as well as rosewood inlay. At some time to the back has had wood worm. It looks treated, but we have also treated it as well. lt comes in several part so its easy to transport. To the base it has brass feet and also to the top brass cups. The center has a drawer to the base. The the rest is all hanging space as well as the sides. The mirror is the original one which shows some specks with age. Measurements are 76 wide.83 high, 24 deep. We have the 3 keys for each door.

Antique. Walnut, wardrobe. Beautiful piece. It is all walnut wood so it's quite heavy. Dated mid to late 1800's. it was in my grandparents living room for as long as I can remember. I am moving to a smaller home and I unfortunately don't have room at this time for the piece. The back of the wardrobe is made up of slats of wood(shown in pictures, is a darker picture) I absolutely love this piece. Would like to keep it, but I have little space. Antique 19th century French Armoire from the Charente - Walnut - to restore - NR
This auction is for a 19th century French armoire for restoration. The armoire is made of what I believe to be walnut. I purchased this at an antique shop near Cognac in the Charente department of France about 10 years ago and had it shipped to the US as part of a load of inventory for an antique shop(since closed) that was located in Connecticut. It was a project piece that I intended to restore and then sell. Unfortunately. I never had the time to tackle this so I am putting this up for sale to someone who has the time and skill to restore this to its former glory(we used to sell these in restored condition anywhere between $6K& $12k) The photos tell do the best job of describing the condition- to summarize, there is no back(it was a piece of plywood when purchased and removed pending restoration) the crown and top(as well as the bottom) ... moreare missing and will need to be rebuilt, there is no lock on the doors and door on the right has has a slight warp to it(that someone has corrected by putting a piece of wood into the opening to make it close completely) the spanner beneath the doors was replaced at sometime with what appears to be matching wood but not carved to match the rest of the case, the left side is complete but has come out of mortise on the front column and will need to be reattached, finally, the right side bottom spanner is missing the bottom of the curved carved piece(see a photo of the left side bottom to get an idea of what is missing) If you have done this type of restoration project before then you know what is involved and how nice this will be when complete- it's a great project for someone with some skill and patience. Height from top to bottom is 84" Depth from front to back is 21.25" width is about 52" The doors are 48" wide by 71" high. The escutcheons measure 19" high by 1.75" wide. Due to the size. Offered here is a gorgeous Large Antique Louis XV Style Walnut Armoire(French) circa 1880-1910. This piece is in very nice condition. It features beautifully carved provencal style flowers with basket at center. With a serpentine shaped apron raised on cabriole legs and original hardware. It features 1 shelf, but more could be added and the original key. The only flaws to mention is a split in the floor of the piece that does not affect the armoire structurally(see picture) and repair to repair to back legs. This piece is a great decorator piece! I am pleased to offer for sale this primitive Walnut antique wardrobe-circa late 19th to very early 20th century. This walnut wardrobe is tall. Primitive and very heavy; it does not knockdown. It features detailed woodwork on the doors and has two bottom drawers that pull out. Approximate measurements: 78" tall from the floor to the top of the crown molding(removable) 48" wide and 17" deep Interior measurements: 59 5/8" tall; 15.5" wide; 46" deep Drawers: 18 1/4" wide; 14 3/8" deep dovetailed ends The sides are solid walnut with the top. Back and bottom made of solid pine. The doors are walnut and are around 7/8" thick. There are several old hooks as well as a clothes pole inside the wardrobe. The drawer on the right side has two small metal pieces tacked-on(not sure why) It has been in my family ... morefor over forty years. And measures 76 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 85 inches tall. It has an extra heavy crown molded top, beveled glass mirrored doors that measure 20 inches wide on each end, and the inside dimensions behind the doors are 20 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 72 inches high. There’s plenty of hanging hooks on this unit for lots of storage. In the center are two raised panel burl walnut doors that open to reveal a storage space for a TV that measures 27 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 32 inches high. There are five raised panel dovetail drawers below the TV space. This absolutely stunning Baroque walnut armoire was purchased in Opio. France, 11 years ago by my husband and me. Our children are off to college, and we are downsizing, so we are selling a few of our larger pieces. Measures 96" tall. 86" wide, 28" deep. The armoire has two very large doors that swing open, and are secured with a metal antique key. The two drawers under the doors open for additional storage. Indicative of pieces from this era. This is a beautiful Walnut Armoire. Louis XV era, circa 1800-1899. It has a single beveled mirror door and has intricate carving on the top and on the bottom drawer. The inside has 5 shelfs measuring 3' x 13" and an inside lockable drawer measuring 27 1/2" x 19 1/2" 4" deep. The inside of the armoire is lined with birdseye maple. The armoire measures 95" to the top of the filigree. And is 40" wide. The beveled mirror measures 25 7/8" wide and is 57 5/8" high. The door is also lockable. Below the door/mirror is another drawer measuring 31 3/4" x 14" x 3 5/8" deep. It is in excellent original condition. It comes apart in 4 sections for easy shipping. A beautiful addition to anyones antique collection.

A lovely Waring& Gillow Ltd Walnut wardrobe. Only selling this as it won't fit into our new house. We guess the age as Victorian as this is how we originally bought it but could be later. Very good quality sturdy wardrobe with a hanging pole and a shelf across the top. Produced at the Liverpool Factory by Waring& Gillow Ltd. The walnut doors are quite simply stunning. There is a faded bit of about a square foot at the bottom half of the left door. It doesn't show very well in pictures. But I'm happy to supply more images.
