G orgeous antique Victorian Birdseye Maple and Maple Large Wardrobe Armoire Closet circa 1880-1890. I believe this was imported from Europe-most likely France or Italy. As this style dome in Birdseye Maple came almost exclusively from there during this period. I am only selling this as it is too large for my small Victorian home. And I have too much floor settling in my home to fully accommodate its functionality, unfortunately. This gorgeous armoire has beveled original glass mirrored double doors that lock with the original key. Everything is original-nothing is reproduction or replacement. A very rare find and nearly impossible to find this exceptional quality and condition in Birdseye Maple! This piece is very large and will need a large room with tall ceilings in order to accommodate! Assembled with meticulous pegged construction. Beautiful ... morebirdseye textures and floral carvings; inside are 3 adjustable shelves with many variations available with the built in bracket racks. Outer measurements 91 1/2" total height. 53" wide, and 19 1/2" deep. It weighs approx 220 lbs. Inside measurements are 76" high. 49" wide, and 14" deep. A very solid and sturdy piece- very little wear to the finish for its age and being birdseye maple! There are a few minor chips and imperfections typical of vintage and antique items that have been acquired over years of time and love- which only adds to the charm and character. It is this historicity that makes them more desired and sought after. The beveled glass mirrors are in great shape for their age with very little of the silver backing showing. And no cracks or chips.
