The top has a standard graduated cornice that is beautifully arched and has a motif to the centre. The sides are panelled which is a sign of good quality. Behind the left door and middle door there is a hanging rail and to the right there are shelves. The height is 203cm. The width is 144cm and the depth is 60cm. Antique Victorian Armoire Knockdown Wardrobe Extra Closet Gun Safe
Spectacular original knockdown wardrobe from 120+ years ago. Original finish; well cared for since new. 48" wide; you can use it as a closet for that room that has none. 87" tall including top cornice piece- make sure it will fit before bidding! Completely disassembles with no tools- top. Middle, and base all are held together with sliding wood clamps that cleverly attach the sections. This has been in the same family since new. It was last used as a gun safe judging by the racks on the left side. Both doors lock. Beautiful oak grain with no damage anywhere. No makers mark; just the number 31 stamped on a number of pieces. No wood damage or repairs. No rot. Two pictures show the underside without the casters or feet mounted- last picture shows misc items that came with it- the hook& eye holds on the top trim though it's ... morepegged and sits there just fine without it. The two keys are for each door- both lock. The left lock has been replaced as can be seen. The 4 brass casters and the 4 metal feet are shown as are the wood punches or pegs? Huge Cherry Knockdown Wardrobe/ c. 1860s This is an incredible mid 1800s Midwestern solid Cherry knockdown wardrobe with 2 doors over 2 drawers. The piece sets up and locks with keys and is extra solid when all together. It measures 7'9" tall including the decorative top crest. 65" at the widest, and 24" at the deepest. All the panels are raised on the inside and outside. The drawers are dovetailed front and back with very thick chamfered bottoms. The piece has been refinished some time ago and it was very well done. There is a set of very well made removable shelves inside that are free-standing and do not affect the originality of the wardrobe. The original hooks and top shelf are also there.
