It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. This is a beautiful solid black walnut slant top writing desk. Circa 1810.The figured walnut top is very rich and beautiful with its grain patterns,rich walnut tones and beauty marks. I rescued this diamond in the rough. It had many many coats of white paint hiding this beautiful black walnut wood. I lovingly& meticulously hand restored this desk back to full glory. I restored the finish with many. Many coats of hand rubbed shellac, maintaining the antique warm glow, rubbed to a silky smooth yet allowing the beautiful grain textures to be felt.There was a trim around the back of the top which was missing, I custom made this new back rail trim using reclaimed 200 year old black walnut. The drawer pulls are from a 200 year old dresser and are solid walnut hand carved pulls. The harp shaped end is gorgeous as you can easily see with its ... morecone shaped finial on the end of the hand turned support which joins it to the drawer base.The slant top is fixed in position. There is no lid that lifts up, this was designed as a writing desk, dating back to the quill pen days. There is an age shrinkage split in the top which I chose not to restore. It gives great character to this lovely piece. The drawer locks are missing.I restored all the drawers, carefully taking them all apart and regluing them all and now they are rock solid and slide excellently. Full depth drawers with lots of storage.The desk is finished on all sides, allowing it to be placed anywhere in a room. The recessed flat panel sides are a great design. Adding to the beauty. I purposefully left some character marks remain in this desk such as tiny chip of wood,left top edge) pinholes etc, they give this desk awesome character, I was not trying to create a reproduction piece I try and respect the antique with all of its age, history and character. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand ... morerubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction.Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years.The photos show casters in the legs, they will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. 1800S ANTIQUE RESTORED CAMEL BACK VICTORIAN FURNITURE STEAMER TRUNK X L (DATED)
Up for consideration is a very nice restored victorian trunk. It has been cleaned well inside and out. All hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish for protection. New leather handles were put on. The inside has been tastefully recovered. It has dated latches that read" July 1. 73. Inside the trunk the lid stay is also dated 1870. It is a nice trunk that is sturdy. The measurements are; 35" long x 21" wide x 27" tall. Shipping, packing and insurance will cost $95.00 due to the size and weight. Pickup is welcome. Wow.as my mom would have said.this is"cute as a button" This little late Victorian wash stand is a delight.it's only 32" long.28 1/2" tall and 14 1/2" deep.the backboard adds appx 9 1/2" to it's diminutive height. It's so tiny it looks like"doll furniture" almost.it would be Great in a small foyer or in a small area where you need something that will"pop"would also work well as a night stand.I believe the wood is pine.but it's been grain painted over that with a wash that's very nice.old and with some wear.to give it a great"primitive" look. It is upholstered with blue velvet which is antique fabric and seems to have another tapestry fabric underneath. See the picture for tapestry underneath. You can see some manufacturer paper on this one. I have two up for auction. They are both quite sturdy and support my weight of 130 lbs. I posted as many pictures as allotted. I am unfamiliar with wood and do not know if there are any repairs or if wood has been altered in any way. This one has a crack on the seat but still support me. I have not dusted. Cleaned or polished as to not upheave the patina. I will leave that up to the new owner. They are 21" high and the seat is 11.5 x 10. With out packing materials, they are 4lbs 9 ozs. It measures 17"1/2 H at the back. 12"3/4 H in front. It is 19"1/2 wide x 6" deep in the center. The pelmet is beautifully cut out with beveled edges. It is in very good condition with two early repairs at the base of the back pelmet and to one lower corner. See pictures. Very minor woodworm that has been treated and shouldn't spread anymore. ANTIQUE 19th CENTURY VICTORIAN CARVED WALUT WOOD CREST or FURNITURE PEDIMENT PARTS Two beautiful. Old, Victorian Wood Pieces that go together nicely, and form a crest, or just to use as parts. They are carved from Walnut with very ornate carved flowers and leaves that are carved all the way through. They both have a scalloped top and plain back. This was probably part of a settee or large chair, perhaps a chaise lounge, because it has holes where upholstery tacks were(see photos) Also, on each end there are holes for dowels(the photos show both pieces put together like an arch way(they would have to be doweled again or glued to stay this way) These beautiful pieces of wood each measure approximately 13 1/2" high x 12" across. So, together, they would measure about 24" across. The wood is about 1 3/16" thick. This very ... moredecorative wood is in good condition but would need some refinishing or painting and a little restoration where the dowel holes and upholstery tack holes are. Victorian Furniture Antique Color Lithos 1862 Great London Exhibition Exhibit
You're bidding on a pair of color chromolithographic prints- they were originally plates from a folio entitled"Masterpieces of Industrial Art& Sculpture at the International Exhibition. 1862" published in 1862 by Day& Sons, Lithographers To The Queen" The exhibition was an early World's Fair. The prints are a nice size- 11 1/2" X 16 5/8" on heavy stock paper, with vivid beautiful coloration. One print, The Glass Case" features an enormous and elaborate display case, and the other, Hall Table" is of a marble-topped ornate table with mirror and ornate design. Truly Victorian decadence of design. Both have a few slight spots in the margin area, but are overall very clean- the images are clean and crisp, especially for color prints of this age, and an almost dessert-like level of rich if the ... moresubject matter appeals to you.
