An antique Arts& Crafts style solid oak Hall Wardrobe of American origin. We are pleased to present this antique Hall Wardrobe for your consideration. It is made of solid Oak wood. And is of American origin with an Arts& Crafts or Mission style look. Unusual for an American piece, it has a mechanism for disassembly to simplify the task of moving it from one place to another. A single door is found on the front, and hooks(not original to the piece) are found on the back, near the top, for hanging garments. Limited depth on the inside is not sufficient for a hanger to fit front-to-back. So this piece is better suited for use as a Hall Wardrobe, rather than a full armoire. Other possibilities, with the addition of shelves, would be use as a Bookcase, Spice Cabinet, or Kitchen Pantry. The outside measurements are 69 inches high. 33-1/2 ... moreinches wide, and 15-1/2 inches deep. There are four(4) pieces of sliding wood locks on the inside. When slid towards the front and removed, they allow the top and bottom to be removed for transport(see three close up pictures to get an idea of how the mechanism works) On the inside. Measurements are 63 inches high, 28-1/2 inches wide, and 12-3/4 inches deep of usable space. Five(5) sturdy hooks are available at the top for hanging jackets, hats, or similar items. The Hall Wardrobe is in great shape. The finish on the outside looks fresh with minimal wear. There are a few water stains on the interior. But the wood is solid. The hinges on the front door have a heavy patina from age, but are quiet and in good mechanical condition. We rate the overall condition as very good. Solid Oak Handcarved Country French Armoire Wardrobe With Fitted Interior Mint
Is anyone who would normally look at our listings would know. We rarely buy anything French or for that matter anything outside of America. But this was a different story. When I seen it I admire the quality and the craftsmanship that went into making such a nice piece. Made of quartersawn solid white oak the beauty of the wood in itself is wonderful. We just completed a total restoration and the piece needs absolutely nothing. It is handcarved and has detail everywhere you look and everywhere you would want. I would say it is in impeccable condition especially for its age dating around 1872-1880. If you would like a nice wardrobe you won't find one of the style any nicer also it's a very nice size measuring only 82 inches tall 16 inches deep and 41 inches wide. Carved Art Nouveau Solid Oak Wardrobe With 12 Beveled Mirrors
Hey simply fantastic wardrobe. It's constructed of solid oak and handcarved in a Art Nouveau style. The front has a door with 12 individual beveled glass mirrors and a solid raised panel that's also carved. It has a very unique look to it, it actually looks like a piece that would've been made by Herter brothers but would be of later date. We just finished a complete restoration on this piece and it needs absolutely nothing. The interior consists of solid oak shelves that I pictured. They are adjustable for different variations. The crest simply lifts off for removal and the entire wardrobe can be taken apart with with four bolts. It's considered a breakdown wardrobe. Retains its original glass and all of its original brass hardware. It measures 91 inches tall. 21 inches deep, 45 inches wide, 81 1/2 inches without crest. solid oak armoire circa 1885-1910
This beautiful full oak armoire measuring eight feet two inches tall by 15 inches deep by fifty inches wide has it's original finish and beveled mirrors. It comes completely apart for easy moving. It came out of a home on St. Charles Avenue here in New Orleans. I put filler on the inside of the left door that had termite damage as a result of being stored in a cellar for years before I purchased it. The repair is just topical about four inches by four inches on the top and about six inches by six inches on the bottom shown on pictures six and seven. It has it's original hardware. The inside is divided and has a shelf across the top. I have had the armoire for about twenty years but due to my age(77) must part with it.
