What a beauty this piece is! With its tapered and carved columns on both sides of a glass panaled door that opens to expose a large area for hanging clothes or whatever you like.There is also a pull out drawer at the bottom. This piece has nicely carved hairy paw feet in the front and turned feet in the rear. And we do have the key and a fancy tassle to go with it. Beautifully preserved. This Scottish Wardrobe is in very good condition for it's age. This wardrobe comes in three pieces, to make it easy to move. Measurements are as follows: 81.9" Height X 78" Width X 24" Depth. There are two clothing compartments: 58 1/2" Height X 20 Width with two bottom drawers. The middle sections has three sliding trays and four drawers(18 3/4" Width X 17" Depth) The latches have key holes, however we do not have the original key. It is Scottish and is dated circa 1870. The primary wood is walnut with burl-walnut decorative elements on the doors. The mirrors are hand-beveled as well as the glass medallions in the side doors. The armoire was entirely hand-constructed and has its original finish. Hardware and glass. Inside are the original sliding brass hooks for hanging clothing. There is a deep drawer on the bottom of the main section and two in the narrower section. To enable the piece's use without disturbing its original pristine condition. Removable shelf units were custom made. These easily slide into the wardrobe and provide additional room for ... morestorage. The armoire is separable into 4 pieces for moving. The crown. A Dutch Louis-Philippe style mahogany double door armoire. Circa 1870. The molded cornice with rounded corners above a pair of double paneled well figured mahogany scalloped doors. With foliated scrolls end post carvings, above a long frieze drawer, raised on rounded feet, the interior later fitted with boards and drawers. Functional latch with 1 key. 87 1/2" high, 65" wide, 21" deep. Condition: excellent overall condition: good patina; no signs of recent damage or repair. Item located in west Miami.
