The piece also features a beautiful parquetry inlay around the base of the molding, of alternating dark and light tones, but there are quite a few of these tiny pieces missing.

Stunning Antique French mirror wardrobe/armoire from the Belle Epoque Era
This has been in our spare room for several years and we absolutely love it- it is truly beautiful. Sadly we need to part with it to make way for a new member of the household. The top piece comes off above the mirrored door. And both drawers and shelves come off/out to make moving/transport easier. It is very sturdy, not a light piece. The paintwork is distressed and it was bought like this 11 years ago, and only the knobs and handles have been changed as they were in poor shape or not existent and 1 shelf added. It measures 252 cm high at middle point 124 cm wide. 46 cm deep plus the top piece sticks out another 25 cm as you can see from photo 2, but is removable. Beautiful Mahogany Wardrobe circa 1910 Width = 65" including upper cornice = 75" Total Height 83 1/2" Depth = 21 1/2" including upper cornice = 24 1/2" Triple fronted with a central compactum behind a mirrored door. There are 4 pull out shelf drawers and two cabin drawers below with pull handles. Brass fittings adorn every part. Hooks. Drawer pulls, rails and handles. The ornate front handles twist to pull back the catch and open doors. The hanging rails pull forward on their mechanism to allow full view of hanging garments and stowed back into the cupboard. Ingenious and well made. Pretty inlaid details and quarter laid mahogany grain. This has been finely done. The colouring is very rich without being too dark and it is not an overbearing piece. There is also cornice to the top and scalloping between the'feet' ... moreThe wardrobe dis- assembles into 5 parts meaning it can be brought up narrow staircases/ through awkward doorways. It was originally designed to adorn a wonderful old manor or stately farmhouse and may have had to come through several rooms to be placed. It also means that the wardrobe is easy to transport and manageable to carry. The wardrobe is in good antique condition. There are minor knocks/scratches to the woodwork. As you would expect for an original item of this age. I have noticed the following. There is a fine crack in the wood panel behind the mirror. It is secure for use. But needs mention. There is a small piece of trim missing on the very bottom of the 1" width between mid-section and right section. Also a small corner on the top of same section. The brass on the rail is loose at left side. There are two small spots of white paint on the far left side panel. All of the above mentioned are minor. Overall an amazing piece. Antique Triple Bombe Armoire Wardrobe Cabinet with Center Beveled Mirror Here is a very impressive triple armoire c. 1890- 1915 with double"bombe" shape.on the top and bottom halves. The sides also have the"double- bombe" shape as well as front. Book-matched burled elmwood/ walnut veneer with scroll inlay design adorns all three front sections. Bonnet on armoire is of a serpentine design with carved scroll work. The 2 side doors open to reveal 2 adjustable interior blonde wood veneer shelves which can be removed. Center door opens to area where a wooden rod would have been suspended.rod missing but could easily be replaced. Armoire has 3 bronze rococo handles with key holes and 6 bronze hinges. Lock on left door has a separate key as its lock has been replaced at some point. The other 2 locks work with another key which ... moreis also available. Lots of storage possibilities. Armoire sections sit on raised splayed legs.total of 8 legs. The bottom apron below the doors also has a serpentine carved design. Center beveled mirror is in very good antique condition. Exterior color is closer to that as shown in photos 2. 3 and 4 when more light was available. Please look at all photos; note there is a slight separation in the wood/ veneer on lower bottom of center door which is evident but not unexpected in pieces this old; it could be dealt with by a furniture restorer or leave it as is let the natural aging be evident. Armoire"knocks down" into 2 side sections plus bonnet and several smaller pieces once top bonnet is removed so it can be more easily moved and maneuvered through doors and hallways. I have even had this armoire taken up winding stairs. Approximate overall size when assembled is 94 in. tall x 75 in. wide x 26.5 in. deep. Beautiful Antique French Armoire. 2 small side doors, one large center door with bevel mirror. Interior is wide open for shelving, shelves will be adjustable as grooves are top to bottom in all 4 corners. Exterior has bird's eye maple, inlay, and walnut. I estimate late 1800's, could possibly be as late as 1920's. This one is not perfect, there are a few veneer flecks, though not very noticeable. I tool a couple of close ups. Beautiful legs with brass covered feet. One escutcheon is missing, I am looking for a replacement. Measures 67 x 19 x 91. This one breaks down in to several pieces.
