On offer for sale is this very original fine quality late Victorian solid pine two door wardrobe.circa 1890, The wardrobe completely flat packs so will fit up the smallest of stair cases.It constructed of solid pine with the doors haveing thick solid panels. it has very nice shaped corbels to the top and bottom. there is a modern steel hanging that fits from left to right.The wardrobe has ample depth to accomadate modern hangers, there is a sunken botton for shoe storage. The condition is very good with original woodworm holes these have been treated many years ago and are long gone(modern antique replicas have fake worm holes) these do not effect the construction stregnth or function of the wardrobe The dimensions when assembled are a very generous width 65 inches depth 26 inches and height 79 inches. Birdseye Maple Wardrobe Cabinet Mirrored Double Doors w Lock & Key Circa 1880
G orgeous antique Victorian Birdseye Maple and Maple Large Wardrobe Armoire Closet circa 1880-1890. I believe this was imported from Europe-most likely France or Italy. As this style dome in Birdseye Maple came almost exclusively from there during this period. I am only selling this as it is too large for my small Victorian home. And I have too much floor settling in my home to fully accommodate its functionality, unfortunately. This gorgeous armoire has beveled original glass mirrored double doors that lock with the original key. Everything is original-nothing is reproduction or replacement. A very rare find and nearly impossible to find this exceptional quality and condition in Birdseye Maple! This piece is very large and will need a large room with tall ceilings in order to accommodate! Assembled with meticulous pegged construction. Beautiful ... morebirdseye textures and floral carvings; inside are 3 adjustable shelves with many variations available with the built in bracket racks. Outer measurements 91 1/2" total height. 53" wide, and 19 1/2" deep. It weighs approx 220 lbs. Inside measurements are 76" high. 49" wide, and 14" deep. A very solid and sturdy piece- very little wear to the finish for its age and being birdseye maple! There are a few minor chips and imperfections typical of vintage and antique items that have been acquired over years of time and love- which only adds to the charm and character. It is this historicity that makes them more desired and sought after. The beveled glass mirrors are in great shape for their age with very little of the silver backing showing. And no cracks or chips. Handsome circa 1880s walnut Victorian Armoire/Wardrobe. Beautiful figural walnut veneer on the double doors and drawers. Great for extra storage/closet space. Flared Molded Cornice. Paneled sides. Shelves inside. Old locks with skeleton key although they are not very secure. Height to top = 89" 7’ 5” Width at base = 55” Width at widest at top of crown molding = 61" Depth at base = 19.5” Depth at deepest at top of crown molding = 23" The armoire does dis-assemble into several pieces for easier moving…can even be transported in a normal size SUV! Here for auction we have a beautiful Victorian mahogany wardrobe dating to the second half of the 19th century. This good example of the classic Victorian wardrobe has a moulded cornice over a single large mirrored door flanked by arched panelled sides enclosing hooks and full length hanging space on a deep base drawer raised atop a plinth base. The drawer is mahogany lined with its original handles and easy to use. To the inside the original hooks are in place but a rail could be easily added and modern hangers can be accommodated.
