Vintage Art Deco Skyscraper Milk Glass Globe Light Fixture
This auction is for a beautiful vintage art deco Skyscraper light fixture with a milk glass globe. All original including the wires which my need to be replaced as they are very old. The globe is in great condition for its age and is free of any chips or cracks. The copper pieces of the fixture are also in great condition but do have some rough spots on the inside due to its age. This is normal. Take a look at the pictures and you will see just how stunning this light fixture really is. Measures approximately 15-1/2 inches tall from end to end. Glass Ceiling Light globe fixture Antique/vintage 12" Hand painted 10" fitter
This is a vintage 1915-1925 hand painted glass ceiling light globe in wonderful condition. The exterior has been hand painted with a rural scen e. One side depicts a farm setting with house and barn with trees; the opposite sho ws a road curving through trees. The two scenes are separated by water with a likeness of a sail boat on the surface and hills in th e distant background. The glass itself is frosted over a co arse surface that reminds one of ice-chipped glass. The paint has no loss and the colors are rich and vibrant still. There is one thin fitter c hip that barely breaks the surface of the edge and would never show. The globe about 12"W X 6-6.5" H with a 10" fitter. The acorn at the end of the glass is cast aluminum. It uses a standard size bulb. I don't know if it works. I have no way of testing it. It's in good used condition. No cracks. Chips, or breaks. One very tiny chip on the globe edge that goes into the fixture, hardly noticeable. Some surface rust on the metal, paint worn/faded. Globe has scuffs and marks. Looks like a new socket has been put into it. Has the original screws that hold the globe on. It measures 12" long. The base has two mount holes that are about 3 inches on center of each other. The cage spins on and off freely. The glass globe is undamaged. We removed all the original paint and polished the brass. The original electrical has all been removed. But it has not been re-wired. We normally do not re-wire these small lights because so many people have different ways they want to use the light. This item offered is a fabulous Art Deco skyscraper ceiling light fixture that was make into a table lamp. Wow what a great piece the globe sits it original light fixture. Measures a large 9"tall with a diameter of about 10"wide. There are no chips or cracks in the shade that I can see someone put some tape on the edges of the globe but don’t see any indentations to indicate any chips. I can’t figure how to get the globe out of the fixture to clean. The shade is a little dusty on the inside.as we will leave the cleaning up to the buyer. An amazing fixture globe from 1911-1912. This is a globe and globe hardware only auction. The fixture is nowhere to be found. This from early in the electric light era. Very rare. Hardware is a clamshell type hinge. I have found these on other sites(full fixtures) for $2250.00. I didn't find any cracks or breaks in the globe. The only chips are tiny and will be covered by metal hardware. These chips are most likely part of the production process. There are two sets of clamshell hardware included. White glass dome has a beautiful vintage warm glow when in use. There are no makers marks or style#s that I can see. Fixture is chrome plated and has some light pitting which would not be visible when installed. The white/milk glass dome is in perfect condition. No cracks.Etc. The diameter of the metal shade is 14" in diameter. The crackle glass shade is 8" in diameter. There is over 15' of chain and cord to hang this fixter where you want it without having to be concerned about electrical connection. There is a regular plug in the end to put in any outlet. I do have a soft pink natual light buld in it but you can use even a eco bulb if you wish. The fixture may look a bit crooked but it is difficult to hold this hanging light and take pictures. Antique ceiling light fixture with opaque white glass sconce or globe. The base is brass colored and has wear and scratches from age that give it character. The sconce or shade has that pale color and nice shape. the glass does not have any chips or cracks that I could see. But there are some imperfections from manufacturing. Some thin black lines that resemble cracks but do not go through the glass, interesting I would say. The base is 6" across and 3 3/4" tall it does not have the fixture or socket inside, I have been told that it will fit over an existing fixture. This antique wall light is made of cast iron and has a white and gold round glass globe- it is in very good condition. There are some white paint specs on both the base and globe. The globe has a pretty gold floral design around it. This fixture is a flush mount but the globe sits at an angle- it could either have an upward or downward tilt. The light fixture measures approximately 10" long X 5 1/2" wide X 8" deep. The globe is 5 1/2" in diameter. There are 2 holes on top and bottom of the fixture to mount to the wall.
