An ebayer advises that this light fixture was made by Virden. They were produced from the early 20's up until the 30's.that the ceiling canopy is cast iron.the chain is steel. The body is aluminum alloy. And the finial is brass. The original turn switch would have been a 3-way, one click 2 lights come on, next click, 2 lights come on, final click all lights on. then off. This was before dimmers were made so you could adjust the level of light. With the old wiring currently in place, we have not of course, tested the lighting features. Finish is in fine condition with a bit of expected age usage and wear.age and storage dust and dander is noted. All of which should clean away nicely with your expertise. The ceiling cap is embossed with ornate designs. Rewiring is highly recommended prior to use. Light bulb sockets appear to be in usable condition but are untested. Vintage Cast Pot Metal Ceiling Light Fixture Art Deco 2-Bulb Flush Mount Painted
From a local estate. Here is a beautiful older ceiling light fixture. This is painted pot metal and is set up for two bulbs, it measures about 12.75" end to end, about 7" across the middle. Sockets, mounting piece, and finial are intact. Will definitely need to be cleaned and rewired, but a good start, no damage at all. Classic art deco styling, should restore to a showpiece. Antique Ceiling Light Fixture 5 Sockets Cast Metal Nice
This is a heavy and well built old antique cast metal light fixture that would mount and hang from one's ceiling. Notice on the round open metal filigree circle there is done in the metal two dragon type figures with scrolling tails. This round circle measures 3 1/2" in diameter. The top ceiling mount measures 4 3/4" diameter. With chain links support the weight of the chandelier fixture. This fixture supports five sockets each socket extending out on it's own individual arm. A very unique feature on this ceiling fixture is that each socket has a decorative bronze type inverted cup like plate that screws on around each socket for an added decorative look. One can remove these decorative rims and then on the inside of each remaining socket there is still three small screws that would allow one to attach to each socket a glass ... moreglobe for a unique and special different look using this same ceiling fixture. One would want to have this fixture rewired as the original wires have some bare places and the heavy bronze type metal could use a cleaning as the fixture is all complete but it does show that it has been stored where there was some moisture as there is minimal rust. This is a beautiful and all original old antique ceiling light fixture that is like having two ceiling fixtures in one with the two options of decorative coverings for the socket covers. Each socket is approximately 3 3/4" wide measuring the bronze cups that are screwed onto the sockets. Just the socket is 2 1/2" diameter and one would need a glass insert that was a smaller diameter than the 2 1/2" if looking for the glass shades, to allow the shade to slide into the socket. Approximate diameter across the light fixture from one socket the opposite socket is about 18 1/2" wide. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this beautiful slip shade art deco ceiling fixture. This beautiful art deco shade is one of the treasures the bosses. Sally& Laurence Martin, returned with when they attended an auction in Stockton California taping an episode of the Travel channels TV show Baggage Battles. This beautiful Art deco ceiling lamp was manufactured by the Devon Group. A midwestern company, and dates to around 1936. The frame is cast metal, most likely brass, or bronze. The frame has been plated and has a very nice patina, it has a warm pewter tint. The fixture has five molded slip shades, and one central dome shade. This ceiling fixture is approximately 19 3/4 inches in diameter. The ... moreheight is approximately 16 inches tall. This lamp weighs approximately 12 pounds. It is hard wired fixture. Two (2) Antique Vintage Ceiling or Wall Light Fixtures-Cast Metal and Brass
This auction features two(2) very unique antique ceiling or wall light fixtures. Constructed of both brass and cast ferrous metal. The base of the fixtures is brass, which is currently heavily painted over. Oxidized brass can be observed at the edge of the base and at the ceiling holes where the paint has been scratched off. The"canopy" is cast ferrous metal(a magnet is attracted to it) designed to appear like"roping" It, too is heavily painted, so I don't know the color of the underlying metal. The canopy is secured to the base with the large"nut" that also secures the light bulb socket. The light socket on both fixtures is the original Arrow 3134 socket and it visually appears to be in good. Working condition. Short pieces of wire are still connected to the underside of the socket where it was salvaged ... morefrom the ceiling. The socket appears to be constructed of copper and ceramic material. The dimensions of these two fixtures are: Base: 5-1/2" in diameter Cast Metal Canopy: 6" wide at the widest points Overall fixture height: 4-1/2" from the bottom of the base to the top of the canopy. These two fixtures are quite unique-I have not seen any that resemble them. They appear to be in excellent condition. I have not cleaned them. And I am selling them in the same condition as I acquired them. They definitely need to have the years of paint removed from them to return them to their original beauty. Vtg/Antique Art Nouveau/Deco Cast Metal Ceiling Light Fixture~Ivory
You are bidding on one lovely Art Nouveau lightweight cast metal enamel finish ceiling light fixture. This fixture is ivory. I think it has been painted because I am also listing a matching fixture with the same sweet swirled design accented in pale aqua and rose pink. The base of the fixture that fastens to the ceiling is 6 3/8" in diameter. It has 2 holes where it screws into the ceiling. The part that holds the socket/bulb has a decorative folded back design. Winning bidder will need to have the fixture rewired as the wires are cut. There is also a little bit of paint here and there where ceiling paint got on it. Antique Art Deco 3 Light Cast Metal Ceiling Hallway Light Fixture w/ Mount
Up for auction is the beautiful Art Deco cast metal ceiling or hallway 3 light fixture that measures a maximum of 10.5 inches across and ~2.5 inches high. Exterior is painted with a bronze colored paint and highlighted with red flowers and green leaves. Original paint is in very good condition with only a few areas of wear. I have tried to show the condition clearly in the photographs. Stamp marked into the metal on the interior but I can't quite make it out. One mark looks like"1930" but whether this refers to the company or patent date or the date of manufacture I don't know. I have photographed these marks as well. This fixture is in excellent original condition with no chips or cracks to the metal and comes with what looks like the original mounting hardware.
