This is a superb antique French timeworn stained glass lantern that would be perfect for indoors or outdoors. It simply fits around an existing light fitting and is such a wonderful period display piece. It dates from the early 1900s and is such a charming confection. The wrought iron frame is embellished with scrolls and curls with the top border of the stained glass section having scrolls with Fleur de Lys ends. The frame finish is distressed with age and it could be waxed. Painted or left just as it comes. The frame is all good and strong. For your consideration is this wonderful Italian hall lantern or porch light. From the 1940's. This light is in good condition, with all of it's original textured glass and all of the tabs to hold the glass in place. It is beautifully ornate with lots of wrought iron scroll work, all holding well, no broken pieces. The lantern is secured to the 5 3/4" canopy with the scroll work. It is 19 1/2" tall and 11 3/4" across including the scrollwork. The glass portion of the light is 8 3/4" tall.
