I’m very pleased to offer this stunning 1930s chandelier with six custard glass shades! Each of the five arms holds an especially lovely shade. And a sixth shade is on the bottom of the fixture. Wow. The chandelier is mostly brass. And the stem is beautifully detailed. I do not know who made the chandelier. But it is of high quality. The finial. Shades, chain, and ceiling canopy are all original. Nice. The chandelier is not actually restored yet. I will finish polishing the brass. And fully rewire. The exposed wire will be cloth-covered like the original. All this will take a week after payment is made. This fixture will be shipped wholly restored and with new wiring. Ready to hang, and with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: Each arm accepts standard base 60W bulbs. The center shade is lighted by two sockets; these bulbs should be 7-1/2W round appliance bulbs(higher wattage bulbs could damage the wiring the clusters above the two sockets) The brass will be polished. It will not be lacquered. The fixture is all brass save a silver disk at the top of the stem. I cannot explain the why of this. The chain. Not brass, is painted gold. COLOR: Brass. A small bit of silver(see above) Custard glass. SIZE: The fixture hangs down 32-inches and is 19-inches wide. I can remove up to 13-inches of chain; I can add chain. CONDITION: I love writing this: there’s no damage. Amazing. I will retain the original sockets. All the wiring will be new. SHIPPING: Insured shipping

And for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company(extant today of course) made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do, these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. I’m very pleased to offer this extraordinary. Eames-era pendant fixture by the famous Gill Glass of Philadelphia! Gill Glass& Fixture Company was located on Amber Street in Philadelphia. And occupied most of the block between East Tioga and East Venango Streets. The factory backed up against rail ... morelines. As was common, and there would have almost certainly been a rail spur leading directly to Gill loading docks. The Gill buildings are extant, although they look a lot less attractive than they did as pictured, proudly, in Gill catalogs. The immediate area around the factory was all housing(and still is) and it can be assumed that many of these homeowners worked for Gill– an easy commute. I’ve collected Gill Glass for years now and have long admired the quality of their fixtures and high style. But normally I come across Gill fixtures from the 1930s and 1940s. And have never before offered this fixture. The fixture is also wondrously original and retains its canopy(with a Gill sticker) The six white glass shades look simple enough but when you hold them in your hand they are immediately recognizable as being beautifully crafted.
