This is a lovely old French crystal basket chandelier dating from around 1940-50. It has a ribbed brass central band with laurel wreaths around the frame. It is hung with octagon and slab shape crystals which form the crystal bag tapering down to the base where it has a skirt of crystal spears. It has been sympathetically restored in our workshops where it was totally dismantled and cleaned. A full re-wire was carried out with all new electrical components including brass bulb holders. There are three lights in total. All inside the crystal basket so that the light shines through the droplets when lit. Now once again in full working order. Adjusted, rewired, canopy/chain polished and lacquered. Ready to install, finest quality crystal with all original prisms, no replacements. The height from top of canopy to bottom of crystal is 19" and the dome is 9" wide. This is as close to new as you could ever expect to find in a vintage basket style fixture. All wires and prism chains have been cleaned and arranged for optimum appearance and form. Chain and canopy are not plated steel but solid brass. The fixture is ideal for an average- to small-sized room. Of note are the lovely cast brass rosettes which curl up from each arm. This auction is for a fantastic c.1940's 3 light brass hanging chandelier. It has great wiring and is in like new condition. Great patina and no dents or scratches. All 3 sockets work great and the shades are in excellent condition with no breaks. Chips or cracks. The only thing that is missing is the actual ceiling chain which it did have but it was transferred to another chandelier. It measures approx. 17" wide X 10" high.
