There are three curving hoops on the back plate each one having a crystal drop held with beads and glass floret. The curving arms have acanthus leaf decoration holding further crystals held with glass florets. There is an electrical candle fitting above a pretty and decorative foliate drip tray and they have a lovely warm gilt patina. Antique lamps. Antique Egyptian wall sconces c. 1801 This is an exceptional pair of antique wall sconces circa 1801 Empire. They are gilt and patinated bronze featuring an Egyptian emperor bust at the top with three light candelabra in the form of heralding trumpets. Each with a face on the curve. The gilt leafy wreaths add to the Impressiveness of these 20 inch tall ormolu wall sconces. They were stored in a box dated 1801 which is correct for the period of these rare Egyptian revival sconces. One half of a laurel wreath is no longer attached at the back. Henri Vian was famous for his bronze work, particularly lighting. He exhibited at the Paris Universal Exhibitions in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. His wife took over the running of the foundry after his death until C1941. I would say that the sconces are dated to the early part of the 20 th century. They are in beautiful condition. With just a faint mark to the mirror of one of them. The faux candle sleeves are in plastic, one of them is cracked. They take a small screw light bulb. They are 30cms long or 11& 13/16” At the widest point of the mirror sconce. DESCRIPTION: Very Art Nouveau This beautiful Pair of 19th Century Antique French Gilt Bronze have Etched Bobeche with Original Crystal Prisms. The pair are Swing Arm Wall Sconces. Arms do remove from wall brackets. Please see all photos. The pair are in mint condition. No damage to either Bobeches or crystal. Measures: 8.1/4" x 3" x 6" This are from my personal collection. I would estimate I have 10.000 pcs to list in the next few years! I'm get older and my children have very little interest in all my antiques and collectibles.
