They are hung with wonderful antique crystals in amber, amethyst and clear in the forms of pears with crystal leaves, crystal balls, French pedagogue shapes, stars, flowers, crystal leaves and faceted drops. Each Sconce measures approximately 7 1/2" high(from the bottom of the gas burner, to the highest part of the light) and will stand out from the wall about 10" to the edge of the shade holder) The shade holder measures about 3 1/2" in diameter and has a spring type holder for the shade(see photo) They are both in very good condition with a nice old patina on the brass that shows some wear but still looks wonderful! There is a tiny gas adjuster screw, above the shade holder apparatus, that still turns but the knob end on each is worn away(It might have been a type of rubber) Everything looks beautiful on these old wall sconces! Hand carved Wood and Iron Sconces- with flower and leaf pattern - Shabby?
These are elegant. Would look really great if you painted them white. Or even gold. But I will leave that up to you to finish as you please. Wall sconces are made of a dark hardwood and iron. They stand 14" from top to bottom and protrude out from the wall 6-1/2" Looks to be carved by hand. Probably from India, could be Mexico? These gorgeous mid-century vintage sconces are plaster with an acanthus leaf design. There are two half moon hooks built in on each sconce back. These were originally gold leaf colored but I spray painted them silver to go with my décor. They can be spray painted any color that you like. There are a few areas where the plaster has deteriorated near the back top edge and I have tried to photograph that area so you can see it. The sconces measure 7-3/4" tall and 6-1/2" wide. The sconces measure 3" deep at the widest part of the half moon top. They are completely flat on the backside. All of my items have been stored in a smoke-free environment. Antique Pair Cast Iron and Gold Leaf Tole Wall Sconces
For your consideration is this lovely pair of Vintage electrified wall sconces. The pair are quite unique unto themselves and although Appearing to have Spanish influences they are most likely Italian in origin. But of this we can not be certain as no makers mark or label can be found. Each sconce has a torch like appearance not unlike what would be found in a historic castle, each also have what appears to be artistically foiled gold leaf florentine styled grape? or perhaps tobacco leaf accents. The pair are being sold in a used Vintage as found pre owned condition with typical age related wear from prior use. The pair although old work as they where intended but could benefit from a set of new(faux) ... morecandlestick sleeves and perhaps a rewiring for safety. Each Candelabra holds three standard size household bulbs and are individually wired in so that they can be separately switched on and off.
