vtg antique lot of 4 Riddle metal electric wall sconces 1 & 2 arms shield motif
Hi up for sale is lot of 4 antique cast metal wall sconces. There are 2 with two arms and 2 with one arm. They have a shield like motif. The double armed ones are 9 1/2" tall at the center part. And about 9 1/2" across. They stick out 3 1/4" the paper socket covers that look like candles are 5" tall, they have some wear. The single ones are 9 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" across. All have turn switches toward the bottoms, all have the hangers that the finials go through the centers, one is already attached in the pic. They are in good shape, have some finish wear. Antique French style metal bronze & or brass wall sconce candleabra frame
Hi folks! here for your bidding consideration is this victorian era original candleabra framed wall sconce. I believe the piece to be made from bronze and brass and it measures 17" long from the top of the bow to the very bottom underneath the middle candle holder and just a little over 11 1/2" across the center front outside edge. Also measuring just shy of 11 1/4" from the back inside edge where a mirror or picture would be held and 36 1/2" all the way around the circle frame. As seen it has 3 seperate candle holders highly decorated with ornate molded florals& leaves. Detailed raised trim beading and what looks like a hand hammered top bow& ribbons. On the back is missing a couple of metal brackets which hold the mirror or picture inside the frame. The piece looks solid& free any breaks with no signs of ... moreany repairs. It's in a naturally aged patina no polishing and other than some naturally aged ware& tare such as tarnish as shown. A good polish will bring out it's beauty. This fixture stands about 33" tall and 20" wide. The finish is original and appears worn with age. The bent arms are all intact and may require adjustments to sit level. Looking at the arms, I suspect that atleast one has been slightly bent unward although that may be an illusion. Although usable as is, this might be better suited as an easy restoration. This auction is for a vintage metal wall sconce which has the capacity for two light bulbs and stands 9" tall at its highest point. It has a beautiful swag design on both the main body and the light holders as well as a drape of flowers on the body of the sconce. The cardboard"candles" are in good vintage condition. Not pristine but certainly usable. There is a turn switch toward the base of the sconce which has a crisp click to it. The fixture does need to be rewired. There is no damage/cracks in the metal. The acorn at the end of the glass is cast aluminum. It uses a standard size bulb. I don't know if it works. I have no way of testing it. It's in good used condition. No cracks. Chips, or breaks. One very tiny chip on the globe edge that goes into the fixture, hardly noticeable. Some surface rust on the metal, paint worn/faded. Globe has scuffs and marks. Looks like a new socket has been put into it. Has the original screws that hold the globe on. It measures 12" long. Super ornate Nouveau/Arts& Crafts period double sconce shade with mica. This piece will need a good bath. But there are no broken or missing pieces. It is a symmetrical bunch of branches/leaves with three roses. The leaves will need a little tweaking to get everything perfectly symmetrical, but that should only take a few minutes. It could be refinished or used as is after cleaning. The shade is 7 inches high and 8 3/4 inches wide. The mounts are 4 1/2 inches center to center. The mica is a bit rough, but it's still there. The finial is original and is solid brass. The socket is new and is also solid brass, not plated. The cord is from a vintage fan& is in good condition. Appears to be a wall-mounted fixture. Beautiful ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ceiling light fixture from an old hotel in Hillsboro. Tx. with the period Acanthus leaf details. We have had this since the hotel was torn down in the mid 1970's. My husband's family owned this property in Hillsboro which was built around 1900. Around 1969 or 70 some of the hotel was turned into dormitory rooms for the local Hill Junior College. Then around 1975 the property was sold and it was torn down for a grocery store. My husband and I grew up in Hillsboro, before moving to Austin for UT in 1974. This is one of the pieces I thought we had lost but I recently found. It's mixed metal. brass, cast iron, maybe more. There are some holes in the electrical canopy for whatever reason. Antique French Gold Metal Chandelier could be Bronze
An Extraordinary Antique Gold Gilt Metal(could be Bronze) French Chandelier with Frosted Flambeau Center Light and Three Frosted Rose Lights in Beautiful Condition. This Chandelier was my Grandmothers and she purchased it at a dealer on the East Side of Manhattan in the 40's. She never new the age but in the 40's was told it was more than 100 years old. Could be Bronze but I really don't know. Chandelier starts with an original chain and a triple bow top and ball. From the ball are three twisted stems that attach to three Satin Glass Rosettes and Cascading Rose Buds and Leaves twisted around the stems. The Center is the Satin Glass Flambeau(Flame) Under the Flame is Acanthus Leaves and the metal is twisted like rope to bring together the three stems under the stems is what looks like an acorn in the center of the three stems. ... moreVery detailed and Lovely Chandelier. There is a ceiling cover but I do not believe it is original to the chandelier. The Glass Flame has a semicircle piece out of the base about 3/4" x 1/2" where is connects with screws to the metal but is not seen as it is under the lip and one screw is missing although it stays tight without it. Can easily be replaced. There are areas where the Gold Gilt has darkened but it only makes it look older. The Satin Glass Roses have darkened from the heat of the bulbs but not bad. Antique Ceiling Light Fixture 5 Sockets Cast Metal Nice
This is a heavy and well built old antique cast metal light fixture that would mount and hang from one's ceiling. Notice on the round open metal filigree circle there is done in the metal two dragon type figures with scrolling tails. This round circle measures 3 1/2" in diameter. The top ceiling mount measures 4 3/4" diameter. With chain links support the weight of the chandelier fixture. This fixture supports five sockets each socket extending out on it's own individual arm. A very unique feature on this ceiling fixture is that each socket has a decorative bronze type inverted cup like plate that screws on around each socket for an added decorative look. One can remove these decorative rims and then on the inside of each remaining socket there is still three small screws that would allow one to attach to each socket a glass ... moreglobe for a unique and special different look using this same ceiling fixture. One would want to have this fixture rewired as the original wires have some bare places and the heavy bronze type metal could use a cleaning as the fixture is all complete but it does show that it has been stored where there was some moisture as there is minimal rust. This is a beautiful and all original old antique ceiling light fixture that is like having two ceiling fixtures in one with the two options of decorative coverings for the socket covers. Each socket is approximately 3 3/4" wide measuring the bronze cups that are screwed onto the sockets. Just the socket is 2 1/2" diameter and one would need a glass insert that was a smaller diameter than the 2 1/2" if looking for the glass shades, to allow the shade to slide into the socket. Approximate diameter across the light fixture from one socket the opposite socket is about 18 1/2" wide. Set of 3 Victorian antique cast metal sconce lights with a candle design. Has a brass color finish. The shaft that holds the lamp has a melted candle wax effect. Each measures 10 in. long. 4 1/2in. wide, and 5 1/2in. in depth. Each weighs 2 1/2 lbs. Has a little switch in front that turns each one on and off individually. ANTIQUE ART & CRAFT PORCH.Bungalow LIGHT METAL & SLAG AMBER GLASS HANGING LAMP
This is a wonderful pair of vintage metal Mission Arts and Crafts style Porch/Bungalow lights. Not an expert on material but I did a magnet test& it DOES NOT adhere to the metal. These are ceiling hanging fixtures with stunning caramel-colored slag glass panels. The slag glass even has a gorgeous iridescence to it. The tops look like they are riveted. The light sockets inside are still intact& usable. The sockets feel& look like porcelain. The wiring is CLOTH original to the fixtures and is still intact. Was told at the estate sale lights were hanging in place and working just fine, however, you might want to have an electrician to check them over since it still has the antique cloth wiring. Both fixtures are in exceptionally good condition for the age. Appears to have been in their original location and hung there for many many ... moreyears. The textured amber glass I was told is original to the fixtures and ALL PANELS are in good condition with no cracks or breaks. I did notice one of the panels are inserted in reverse and probably hung that way unnoticed. Also the cap that hugs the ceiling is missing on one but should be an easy replacement. Of Middle Eastern origin, is the largest of its kind we have seen in over ten years, measuring an impressive 60 in tall and 20 in across(152 by 51 cm) It features reticulated designs with clear, blue and green glass, and three electrified candles. This Ottoman era fixture may be of Turkish, Syrian or Persian origin. We have found no hallmarks. Condition is good. There are obvious scratches, dents and such, consistent with age, including a clean break to the flared foot which can be seen in our images. Vintage Antique Metal & Glass Figure Lady Angel Wall Pole Sconce Electric Lamp
Please review all 12 pictures using the zoom feature. This is a very unique and stunning vintage/ antique metal lady angel sconce which I assume was once mounted on a pole- either a standing pole or. More likely, a pole mounted on the wall. Overall she is 20" tall from bottom of the metal sconce to the top of the ruffled glass shade. The metal sconce is 12" then the shade sits securely into the top of the sconce once the 3 screws are turned to tighten it and hold it in place. I’m not sure what type of metal she’s made out of but she is heavy. Some of the finish has worn off in spots with the gray metal showing through but she displays nicely. Colors of the metal sconce portion are cream. Brown, goldish-brown. I have looked her over closely but don’t see any stamp or signature. The glass sconce is free of any chips. Cracks, or fleabites. ... moreThere is an overall frost to the glass then the bubble-raised panels are clear glass with frosted etchings. Every other panel is either scroll design only or scroll design plus a little sitting child/wingless cupid. The ruffle at the top is all frosted. This is a fabulous vintage piece. I bought it many years ago with the intent of rewiring her then mounting her on a pole then the wall but I never got around to it and now she wouldn’t fit into the decor of my house. The existing wire has been cut so she will need rewiring if you want her to be a functioning electric lamp. Again. This sconce is heavy. I have added a $1.00 packing fee into the postage cost as I will need to use a lot of packing material to ensure she makes it to her new home safely. She will be shipped insured priority mail.
