It is a TURN OF THE CENTURY Victorian TABLE TOP OAK CHEST with 3 drawers and an open space. I believe it is a jewelry chest/ armoire or a gentlemans valet.not really sure.Some of it appears to be tiger oak. It is QUITE UNUSUAL with ornate metal work on ALL 4 CORNERS on the TOP of the chest.as well as ALL 4 CORNERS on the FRONT of the chest. Both front doors also have a metal SHIELD decoration and one side has a key lock which I do not have the key for. Nor do I know if it works.but looks very classy with all the Victorian Fancy Hardware. When opened. It reveals 3 drawers ~ 1 larger bottom one and 2 smaller side ones. It also has an open space to the right of the smaller drawers. The HANDLES on the 3 drawers are ORNATE with UNUSUAL DROP BAIL PULLS! ONE pull is MISSING. There is one pull which is unattached and as there is some metal damage to the 2 other handles. It will need some fixing.but still acceptable for its age in my opinion. Back is made of 2 pieces of wood and is not split. Just age seperation. The bottom is covered in old felt. CONDITION: ONE SIDE of the cabinet/chest has a center split in the wood. There appears to have been some work on the side that is split.I think it is all original with reinforcing screws.but because this is not my area of

An incredible accomplishment. The foundry work executed in this piece is above reproach- each gilt bronze mount is hand chased to the highest quality, mercury gilded and of outstanding detail. An angular and commanding work, the Armoire is surmounted by a triangular crest that is removable from the body with two dowels on either side- this is flanked by a pair of carved mahogany(replaced) finials. Beneath the projecting crown molding, an incredible gilt bronze mount of an angel riding through ocean waves in a cornucopia pulled along by swans while leaving behind a trail of shells is simply stunning. Flanking this on either side are opposing gilt bronze solider masks. The top is removable. Lifting off of large steel screws inside of the armoire to allow the door to be lifted from it's hinges for easier transportation. On either side of the door, pedestaled on large tapered columns rest large and highly impressive patinated and gilt bronze Classical female heads with bowed ribbon holding her hair back. These are the largest mounts of flawless execution we've seen on a piece from this period, each a stunning work of art in it's own merit. A hand filed steel screw secures each head to the case. Beneath the column, intense gilded Lion Paw's in the Regency manner complete the form. The arched door swings open with use of the original key. Revealing a golden oak interior of four shelves and a single locking drawer. This drawer is hand dovetailed with solid oak secondary woods, when removed revealing an illegible signature in period script along the dust board. Affixed to the top of the armoire on the inside is an old bill of lading from Lawsonia Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, noting it's sale of an"Exist. Victorian 1880s Mahogany Noveau Armoire Wardrobe
This late 1800s Victorian Mahogany Armoire has the original pleated sage green fabric behind the glass fretwork-covered side windows. The beautiful hand carvings on this wardrobe make it a very desirable piece. The wardrone breaks down easily into three pieces for convenient moving or storage. The very top. Deep thick crown piece has a chip missing on the very end but this is not obvious unless pointed out. The finish is original. It certainly does not look new or perfect but is quite presentable. The 9 1/2" deep blanket drawer on the bottom has nice original noveau copper handles. Inside the piece are 6 original coathooks and two hanging racks that were added later, but are still old and do not detract from the value as they are easily removed. The back of this unit shows dovetailed construction. This is NOT a reproduction. Weight of ... morethe unit approaches 200 pounds(when I purchased it 15 years ago, it was rated at 200 lbs. crated) My wife and I are moving to a smaller home in a different state and will no longer have enough room for a piece like this. A beautiful 19th century French Armoire-Wardrobe made of walnut Beveled mirror wardrobe door flanked with narrow raised panel doors adorned with ribbon/bow appliques. Curved corners. Stepped construction complemented with cornice moulding; tapered fluted legs; adjustable shelves. Dimensions: 74" x 97" x 18.5" LOCAL PICK UP ONLY Condition: This piece is an antique and has the usual wear associated with its age. It has dents. Nicks, scuffs, cracks and mars associated with age with some later modifications.

This is a beautiful Louis XIV Walnut French armoire. It stands tall and proud and is an impressive piece with rich texture to the wood finish. The main body of the wardrobe is about 20 1/2 inches deep but the serpentine face of the lower drawer extend an additional 3 1/2 inches. Everything about this piece has attention to detail.even the inside of the sizable storage drawer at the bottom has Birdseye Maple bottom panels.The three interior storage drawers share the same detail.The entire piece is simply covered in Birdseye Maple. The sides also have the"double- bombe" shape as well as front. Book-matched burled elmwood/ walnut veneer with scroll inlay design adorns all three front sections. Bonnet on armoire is of a serpentine design with carved scroll work. The 2 side doors open to reveal 2 adjustable interior blonde wood veneer shelves which can be removed. Center door opens to area where a wooden rod would have been suspended.rod missing but could easily be replaced. Armoire has 3 bronze rococo handles with key holes and 6 bronze hinges. Lock on left door has a separate key as its lock has been replaced at some point. The other 2 locks work with another key which ... moreis also available. Lots of storage possibilities. Armoire sections sit on raised splayed legs.total of 8 legs. The bottom apron below the doors also has a serpentine carved design. Center beveled mirror is in very good antique condition. Exterior color is closer to that as shown in photos 2. 3 and 4 when more light was available. Please look at all photos; note there is a slight separation in the wood/ veneer on lower bottom of center door which is evident but not unexpected in pieces this old; it could be dealt with by a furniture restorer or leave it as is let the natural aging be evident. Armoire"knocks down" into 2 side sections plus bonnet and several smaller pieces once top bonnet is removed so it can be more easily moved and maneuvered through doors and hallways. I have even had this armoire taken up winding stairs. Approximate overall size when assembled is 94 in. tall x 75 in. wide x 26.5 in. deep. This Armoire comes with a removable top piece. With out the top piece. It measures 7' tall 16" deep and 45" wide. With top piece in place, it is 8' tall. There is one drawer which makes up the bottom section. The doors are held in with two iron pins, there is a bit of damage where one of the doors rest. Each door weighs about 50lbs.
