I had a box of unused older sockets that has the string type pull so the socket was a perfect companion to the fixture since the canopy piece does have an opening hole for the string to come through) The sockets shown in the last photo are not included with the auction listing. Box was pictured to show the socket used as a replacement is new old stock. No chips or cracks to the glass, the fitter end opening is 4" Shade is about 8 1/2" in diameter. About 6 1/4" tall. Exact age unknown. We are told the more inclusions of bubbles in the glass the older the piece. This globe is loaded. Really a unique wonderful piece of glass. Hand painted but we think this was done in more recent times. We see the artisan had a few spots of paint outside the lines on the glass. Presented"as found" We see that this is slightly dirty and could use a careful cleaning. No chips or cracks but we do see some fleabites ... moreon the fitter flange. As the glass sits in the base this fixture measures approx. 8 1/2" tall. 4" fitter. The widest part of the glass measures approx. 7 1/4" diameter. The cast iron base measures approx. 6 3/4" diameter x 1 3/4" tall. It has some casting numbers. The glass attaches to the base with three set screws. This is a beautiful entry way or porch hanging lamp/light mission era. It is brass or bronze maybe even copper parts in trim. Hard to tell as parts have been painted black. The glass is beautifully designed with a type of geometric frosted clear design almost mosaic. The lamp is in the shape of a decagon and measures 6" high and 6" in diameter. VTG 20S ART DECO COPPER IRON MISSION PORCH LIGHT SCONCE FIXTURE & CYLINDAR SHADE
Very beautiful antique light fixture. This is an outdoor wall sconce that would work great on a cottage or by a porch door. Originally from a lake home built at the turn of the century. The light is of cast metal, bronze and copper(the top is copper, other parts seem to be covered is some brass or a mix of brass, bronze and cast metal) The best part of this light is the cylinder shaped amber crackle glass shade, you don't often see these with an undamaged shade. It looks beautiful when turned on. It has been rewired(outdoor wiring and socket) and can take a 100 watt bulb it desired. Will have the mounting hardware included with a new brass finial holding the threaded rod in back. This light has been repaired to be usable again, the socket has been epoxied to the base(pictured) there are a few places where the metal has been lightly sanded ... moreto see what color it was underneath(pictured) this would weather in time and turn dark again. The finial on the bottom has a small hole drilled into it and a tiny wire holds it to the base of the lamp. pictured) You have to look for this to see it. A few screws have been replaced to hold the base to the top, they are brass but will darken in time(pictured) There is a screw head that is broken off that holds the copper top to the cast metal middle, there are other screws holding it down so this is not an issue(pictured) There are some very small paint dots on the copper top(pictured) In the last photo you can see the part that holds the base to the back tends to wiggle back and forth- it won't come loose and almost needs to be this way to fit the top onto the base(it needs a bit of wiggle room) but once it's all put together it doesn't move at all because of the way the top and bottom attach to each other. It needs to be assembled carefully since the metal top has to be screwed to the base over the cylinder shade- takes a bit of time and patience but well worth the effort. Up for auction is an antique light fixture. Probable for a porch. Looks like an outdoor fixture. The fixture is metal. Painted white. The globe is white glass. The acorn at the end of the glass is cast aluminum. It uses a standard size bulb. I don't know if it works. I have no way of testing it. It's in good used condition. No cracks. Chips, or breaks. One very tiny chip on the globe edge that goes into the fixture, hardly noticeable. Some surface rust on the metal, paint worn/faded. Globe has scuffs and marks. Looks like a new socket has been put into it. Has the original screws that hold the globe on. It measures 12" long. Fixture is 5 1/4" diameter, globe is about 6" diameter, opening that goes into the fixture is 3 1/8" diameter. Vintage Gothic Revival Arts & Crafts Slag Glass Cast Iron Porch Light Fixture
International bidders MUST contact me prior to bidding for a shipping estimate! Up for sale is a Vintage Cast Iron Slag Glass Gothic Arts& Crafts Mission Porch Light Fixture. This fixture has a great revival look. features removable slag glass panels. They were originally installed via 2 L-brackets. So that they could slide in. Now, the bottom brackets are still there, but the top brackets have eroded away, or they were possibly cut out so that the glass could be removed. This is all the original glass that came with the fixture. The only way I could figure out how to properly hold the glass in, was to use velcro on the top side. Believe it or not, it works pretty well! I took a photo showing the little velcro tabs. Obviously you could remove those tabs if you wanted to use a different method. The glass panels will be removing during ... moreshipping. Otherwise. The glass is free of any chips or cracks. The fixture is very old and vintage, and has a few areas that are weathered& have small splits(near the bottom finial part) The paint isn't in the best condition but has the weathered appeal. This is truly a treasure! My building is being rennovated and this 1950's porch light fixture came off the front of the building. And. It still works! The building was built in the late 50's and the light is original from then. I left the petina and condition as is because it gives character to the piece.The gold nuts are to keep the top on since they were missing. The glass is beveled and slides up and down for removal. vintage antique porch light by Imperialites.sticker still on back with model number.C-85487.also says Underwriter Laboratories Inc Electric Fixture Imperialites this is a great old light fixture.its very heavy.you can see the last pic with just the weight of the glass by itself.Im not sure of the type of metal.it has a brushed finish with small black triangular indents.some of which have faded or lost color from being out in the elements.or have dirt on them.very easy to restore.theres a bit of black paint missing around the edges also.that is the extent of any damage. the glass is very thick and has spikes going down each side with beveled panels and a scalloped shape bottom edge.it is in mint condition.and held in place by 3 screws.easily detaches. the top knob unscrews.also holds the light bulb socket in place which is still there and ... morelooks nice.appears to be ceramic. there are some wires still showing thru the back.I do not know if this is in working condition but I would suggest replacing the wires for safety reasons due to its age this needs to be cleaned.there is some dirt residue still present from being outside this looks much better in person than in the photos.which makes it look really horrible.its just a little dirty on the top compared to the back plate, 8" in overall height including top knob top piece measures 5.5x5.5" square the glass globe is a bit smaller below it and when in place is 4.5" tall bottom of glass measures 3.5x3.5" square top knob is 2-3/8" tall overall 6.25" deep including back plate any questions.please email Powered by The free listing tool. Offered here is a really nice piece of antique cast iron porch light. It measures 15 inches tall. Weighs about 7 lbs. The screws are pretty rusted and the guts of the fixture are missing(should be rewired anyways because of age) Only cleaning I've done to it is knocking some dust off. Very nice vintage. 1908-1920) Arts& Crafts Mission Style light fixture. Originally was used as a porch fixture but could be used indoors as well. Body. Tube, cage and ceiling attachment appear to be made of copper. I have deliberately scratched the interior of the ceiling attachment, see photo) to see that it is in fact copper. There is an oval metal link that attaches the fixture to the top. This piece is made of steel and has rusted and pitted. Piece has it's original patina which looks GREAT. Piece has not been cleaned or polished in any way and is exactly as I found it. I will be dusty and dirty when it arrives to you. Piece appears to be original other than the wiring. It appears that the piece has be re-wired at some time. I would recommend another re-wiring before you attach it to your home. Piece measures. A vintage cast iron light fixture with lightly textured ruby red glass panels. Measures approximately 11-1/2" tall to the top of the hanger finial x 4¾" in diameter at the widest point. The mounting plate measures approximately 6" in diameter. The glass panels are free from chips or cracks. Overall condition is good. There are small two cracks in the cast iron on one side which does not affect the soundness of the fixture- please see picture#6, the cast iron is oxidized, it will need new wiring and will benefit from a more thorough cleaning.

Antique Porch Light or Post Mount Cage Lamp Fixture Salvage Non Electric
Please enlarge and review the photos carefully so you can get a sense of just how unusual this lamp really is. We acquired it at an architectural salvage auction. I have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find another one like it and been unable to do so. It is metal, but I can't guess what kind as it is not terribly heavy for its huge size. I believe it would have been either a porch lamp or a post mounted lamp and may have served to hold either a lantern or a very large candle. It has never been electrified. It would come out almost 12" from wherever it was mounted. The length from the bottom of the ball to the top of the spire is about 19-1/2" The cage part looks like chicken wire. The top lifts up and down and latches so that the lantern or candle can be inserted and/or maintained. The fancy little latch is in ... moreperfect working order. There are no dents and the lamp is actually in very good condition except for the heavy surface rust which has completely overtaken the entire piece. The wire is slightly pushed in. Probably from the lamp having leaned against another object, but it is minor and can probably be easily straightened. I date this piece to the late 1800s or early 1900s. This is an auction piece. Being sold as described, as is. I cannot guarantee that it has not been exposed to odors: smoking, fragrance, cooking, mustiness, mothballs, other types of storage odors or pets.
