This auction is for an antique 1920's art deco ceiling light chandelier that is fully functional and ready for installation and use. It consists of 2 parts of thick frosted glass. The upper is clear and the lower shade is light green with a beautiful art deco pattern. The lower part has glass tabs that insert into the slots of the upper part and rests on little ledges when turned 1/4 turn, as designed. The escutcheon plate and bulb holder are made of brass and the total height is approx. 17" This classy and opulent vestibule light appears just lightly used and in very good condition. There is a chip in one of the ledges of the clear round part and the square green part rests securely on the other 3 ledges with no problems and it is guaranteed to be a solid connection as it is and this minor detail cannot be seen when in use. The ... moreglass parts are 3/8" to 1/2" thick and there are no chips, cracks or damages to the lower part or brass accessories. Co. brass fat boy paddle sockets. This lamp has been restored. Polished, rewired, and is tested working. It comes with 3 etched glass lamp shades. This fixture stands about 33" tall and 20" wide. The finish is original and appears worn with age. The bent arms are all intact and may require adjustments to sit level. Looking at the arms, I suspect that atleast one has been slightly bent unward although that may be an illusion. Although usable as is, this might be better suited as an easy restoration. Being a solid brass Chandelier, made in Spain. The material, design, theme, wiring and overall wear and tear(patina) suggest that it was probably made pre-WWII. Especially the design, reminiscent of the works of designer and architect Antoni Gaudi, suggests that it is inspired from a slightly earlier time, likely circa the early 1900s up to the 1930s, or so, and then put ... moreinto production. It would fit into designs and constructions of many Gaudi creations, and of his followers, possibly being of Gaudi's direct influence. It is in good condition in so far as the brass is concerned, patina of brassy green, with no metal damage like cracks, broken places, etc.it is structurally intact and all there, including the original chain from the ceiling and the outlet cover(see photos) However, originally there must have been crystal pendants dropping from the 10 individual 6 pointed"stars, the five suspender arms near rhe top, and six places for crystals in the extra"star" at the top. The drops would make a brilliant display, especially building upward and concentrating light there, but they are now absent. The holes for hanging the pendant drops are all intact and await fitting with replacement crystals(which can readily be found, either antique ones or current production) The electrical wiring should all probably be redone or at least checked and refitted as may be necessary. Antique 1920's Large Church Chandelier Lantern Light w/ Gothic Details
Beautiful 1927/ 1928 lantern chandelier salvaged from an old church. This beautiful antique piece is rare in that it's perfect for decorating both hanging or sitting on a surface. It is made of hammered iron- I would guess. By the age and look, that it is hand-hammered- and textured glass panels. The glass is removable as shown in the first photo. It has six sides and a piece of glass on the bottom that can be removed as well. The lantern can be used as a light- you can put four bulbs in the fixture- or as a decoration without the light fixture. It does need rewired if being used for that purposed. As the wires were cut when they were salvaged. The fixture, however, can be removed with two screws. Without the fixture, you could use it as a planter on a porch or deck, or with candles, etc. The total height is 38" The glass enclosure ... moreis 26" high and the stem/top is 12" high. It is 13" across at the narrowest point and 14.5" at the widest point. These are very glamorous. Rare historical pieces. This is a beautifully constructed piece with no flaws or damage. The glass shades measure 8 ¾” x 6 ½” The condition is very nice. There is some paint around the edges of top mount piece. There is a little wear to the post. This item is an antique Brass Chandelier. It worked well when it was removed. I believe it to be from the 1920's or 1930's as this was when the house was built where the chandelier was removed. It is somewhat"dirty" and needs to be cleaned up. It would benefit from being rewired just to have peace of mind. FRANCE 1920'S MOULDED GLASS CHANDELIER, CENTER LIGHT SHADE SUPERB JEAN NOVERDY CHANDELIER This beautiful center light shade or chandelier was produced by Jean Noverdy in France during the 1920's. The moulded glass is in a pattern of clam shells in a beautiful peachy pink with a slight pearlised effect to the glass. The shade is clearly marked Noverdy France Depose. The shade hangs form three internal hooks on chains which then attach to a central ceiling rose. The chains and hooks are original. These have suffered some discolouration to the metal, but new chain can be purchased quite easily should you wish to change it. The ceiling pendent is new in an antique finish. The shade measures 34.7cm in diameter. There are a few chips and flakes to the underside of the rim. Killer! This 1920's light was taken from a 1920's Spanish Revival house in Southern California before it was demolished: It appears to be all original. Including the glass panels. The wiring is also original, so please have it checked before you install! It's got about 8'10' of original chain, which leads us to believe it was hanging in a foyer or two story stair well. For your consideration is this fabulous antiuqe Pre-1920's French Yellow Bronze Chandelier dripping with wonderful quality crystal prisms. Pale amethyst French Country prisms,rosettes and Czech glass fruit. This exquisite chandelier has large grapes in amber and amethyst with delicate clear leaves, deep amethsyt and clear grape clusters with leaves, large amber and amethyst apples with large clear leaves. This is a four arm chandelier and does come with beautiful little shades for the bulbs as shown. It measures 19 3/4" tall by 12" wide. The bronze chain is made up of 1 inch links and measures 11 1/2" long. It has it's canopy, which measures 4 1/4" across and note in picture, canopy does have a clicker switch and a hole drilled in it for some reason. The wiring is all new, so it is ready to hang. The candle covers ... moreappear to be original, they show some age and wear, but are gorgeous on the light. The little shades measure 2 1/2" tall by 2" across the bottom. Antique 1920's Art Deco Crystal& Brass 5 Arm Electrified Chandelier This is old. Probably post WWI/ 1920's from the glass, which has a great Art Deco look. The glass is thick and sturdy. The wiring looks like the kind you find in old knob and tube electrical and it would certainly need rewiring. It does have a great look and all of the parts appear to be here including the collar that fits to the ceiling and the chain and its hardware necessary to hang it. As for the metal. I believe it is brass or something with brass plating over it. Some spots show the wear on the surface and I would take steel wool to it as the underneath looks like brass also. There are also a few rust spots on the very bottom that could benefit from a good cleaning. Restored, it would make a lovely addition to a post Victorian, Art Deco building. The only 2 flaws I seen are on top 2 small pieces are chipped away. This is not visible from the bottom, once you hang this chandelier globe. I only have the globe and the original decorative attachments, which I believe these are silver plated bronze and have a nice age patina. On the inside, sockets are screwed onto these attachments. On these attachments, you can hang either chain or a robe kind of attachment, which was used in those time, but not on these chandeliers. Stunning Art Deco Glass Globe Pan Light-Circa 1920- This was an original fixture in the townhouse attached to the old"Morrie's" Grocery store in Delaware. Ohio built around 1920. The chandelier has been completely cleaned. Repaired, and rewired, including vintage cloth wiring. It also has antique fat boy ceramic sockets that have been inspected renewed and fitted with new insulators. The top of the sockets have a patten date of July, 14th 1914. I always try to work with what a piece gives me. This one had great patina on the bobeches and the ornate arms for the hanging lights. The globe of course was the center piece. The globe is a light pink with etched filagree and three beautiful soft green Roman Venus's evenly spaced around the glass. I accented the pan body with five hand layered colors with the dominant color being ... moreantique sage green. This worked great with the exisiting patina and brought out the colors in the globe as well. I put enough color and finish on it to bring out the stunning detail but left much of the great patina as found. Includes original matching ceiling cap. The pictures tell the story. This lamp is unmarked as to manufacture but is equipped with Four(4) Leviton Light Sockets with original Bakelite turn switches. Condition is as is as found with item needing re-wired before service as still has cloth covered wiring present. The light"pan" measures 10 1/4" in diameter x 5" tall. We believe this is an original fixture. It does work. But would be a good idea to rewire the light as there is some fraying. The escutcheon has some white paint on it that needs removing and the light is dusty. This measures 21" across and 17" high(not counting the escutcheon or chain) The cardboard sleeves which originally had"wax drippings) made into the cardboard are starting to flake away. There are tiny metal flowers where the original straight screws are holding the body of the light in place. This will ship without the light bulbs. I was told when I originally bought the chandelier, it was brought back from France by a soldier, to his wife, and put in their home. It has 5 bulbs surrounded by crystal dishes. The chandelier has both prisms and dewdrop crystals. The dewdrops are" Murano" glass. The light has had an electrical cord attached to it so that I could use it by my bed as a lower hanging chandelier. Originally it came from a ceiling, hence, the 9" chain.
