French, swinging, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid Chestnut core with 1/8" Birch veneers and features 15 beveled, glass lites. Also note that Chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; its not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Which made the North American Chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. Although this is an interior door. It can also be used as an exterior door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. 30"x80" Antique Exterior Entry Wood Door Craftsman Prairie Beveled Glass Lites
Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x80" Antique Exterior Birch Door w/9 Glass Lites. Charming. Antique, exterior door salvaged from Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid wooden core made of Douglas Fir covered with 1/16" birch veneers. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The center glass is flat. Tempered glass and the surrounding lites are beveled. The original, center lite was replaced with this one at some point. When it was replaced, the previous owner also replaced the molding that surrounded the glass with some thin strips of wood, not real molding. We could remove these strips, and make and add molding similar to what the rest of the windows ... morehave. Hardware: This door was originally a part of a pair of double doors. I'm not sure what happened to the other door. But the two were separated at some point. The other door had the knob and lock installed. And it was the one that was most frequently used. This was the stationary door in the pair. Which was locked in place with it's flushbolt(the vertical. Sliding door lock-see 3rd photo) for most of the time. Since the door will now be used as a single door. It won't need the flushbolt any more. If you like, we could remove the bolt and plug the holes with solid wood-email us for a quote. This is a used 1900's Oak Entrance House Door. The door has beveled glass. 9 lite or glass sections. The entire glass area is 24" wide x 60" long. The door is 35 1/2" wide and is 83 3/8" tall and is 1 3/4" thick. The door has a 1/8" veneer finish. There is a couple spots were the veneer is missing. about 1/2" x 1/4" along edge and corner) The bottom edge has a strip of about 1/2" x 20" that has broken loose and is barely attached. The door is in really good shape. Though it is old and needs a good cleaning. It was under a large porch roof and had a storm door to protect it. It has all the hardware except key. No key. Antique, french, interior, Arts& Crafts door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid Birch core with 1/8" Birch veneers and features 12 beveled glass lites. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Although this is an interior door. It can also be used as an exterior door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. We have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door(check out our eBay store) Condition: On the exterior side of the door. The bottom of one ... moreof the stiles has a deep cut; and the veneer on the bottom rail is chipped, cracked and delaminated. On the interior side of the door. A piece of molding from one of the windows is broken; and the bottom of one of the stiles is cracked and loose. Otherwise. This door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Quirks& Considerations: The width of the door was unevenly cut by approx. 1/4" Most likely to accommodate for an old warped floor or settling foundation. These are 5 Beveled glass panels. Salvaged from a pair of french doors. These were older doors of quality and the beveled edge is a full 1 1/2" wide. The glass panels measure 8 1/2" wide by 13" long. When they were still in the doors, the doors were stained, and a very ligth edge of wood stain is still on the glass, removed easily with a straight edge razor blade. I have all the glass from both doors, if a buyer needs multiple sets of 5 or all of the glass for a door restoration, let me know, I will ship in quantity. Gorgeous salvaged 36" door with a beautiful leaded glass window. Dating from the early 1900s. This exterior door's pane is crowned with an egg and dart trimmed pediment with a stylized fleur-des-lis at its center. The window features a geometric pattern of curved shapes, rectangles and diamonds, with a central quatrefoil composed of beveled glass. The surrounding glass is a combination of different patterned panes with rippled, ribbed and glue-chipped glass. Below the pane is a simple shelf accented with swirling volutes and foliates underneath. The door has been stained a rich dark brown and has the wear and tear typical of an old door. Lot sale of 13 Pcs 8.25" x 11.25" Antique Door Beveled Glass Lites/ Window Panes. Light Green Tinted Glass for 11 pcs. Clear Glass For 2 pcs. There is still dried white paint specks on the glass border edges. There are fine scratches to a lot of the glass panes but not deep enough to really stand out that bad. The border edges have small chips to them but all would be covered by the glass retaining wood trim. Of all 13 glass panes there is one that has bigger chips around the edge and it was still covered by the glass borders wood trim. Somebody must of replaced some glass at one time because there is 11 panes that are light green in color and 2 panes that are very light tan. If you look at a single pane of glass you dont really see colored tint of the glass but when you stack on top of each other the green of the glass becomes ... morebolder. When all 11 are stacked it is a much darker green and if it is one pane I really dont see the green tint. All the glass panes have no cracks or chips in the glass that will be visible after they are install with glass finish moldings. The glass does have some small air bubbles within them. As the last picture shows the original door that I removed the glass panes from which had rotten wood to most of the door.Also if you desire the wooden trim item strips they can be added to shipment fro the price of the additional weight when added to shipment. The weight of the glass alone before shipping is close to 25 lbs so its not a light shipping package when completely boxed and ready for shipment. OUTSTANDING! ANTIQUE EASTLAKE FRONT ENTRY DOOR BEVELED GLASS PANES WOOD HARDWARE
This is such a gorgeous door. I hate to let it go. I found it in Missouri about 8 years ago after my house burned down. I intended for it to be my new front door, but as I rebuilt the house, my design changed from a slightly Victorian/Farm look to more a Craftsman/Lodge style. No longer did its beauty compliment the style of the emerging home. I often thought I would find a use for it, but so far it's sat upright against a wall in my garage. Time to pass it along. First of all. It's truly stunning with mortise and tenon joinery. It has a beautiful honey color and has worn unusually well for it's age. There are a few divets and scratches, but nothing major or unsightly.only added character. A previous owner has used a brown putty on a few of them, and to be honest, I didn't notice them until taking the pictures to post here. ... moreThe one imperfection that I had taken notice of when I bought it was a crack in one of the glass panes. It's in the corner and measures approximately 1 1/2" It does not appear to compromise the integrity of the glass pane at all and is not distracting to the eye. All the glass panes have a lovely beveled edge and add charm to an already enchanting door. The bottom front panels have the usual trademark Eastlake designs and also the wonderfully decorative Eastlake hardware including the front and back plate and the inner locking/latch piece. There is no knob. I have no idea, if once complete that the internal hardware will operate properly or not. Although, you shouldn't have much of a problem finding something else, including knobs.they are all over E-bay! I do have cast iron Eastlake style hinges(a set of three) that I will include. The hinge side of the door has several holes where previous hinges had attached. These can be filled and when I place the hinges up to them there are several holes that hit virgin wood and should grab nicely. Lot sale of 3 Pcs 8.25" x 11.25" x 1/4" thick Antique Door Beveled Glass Lites/ Window Panes. Light Green Tinted Glass for 3 pcs. There is still dried white paint specks on the glass border edges. There are fine scratches to a lot of the glass panes but not deep enough to really stand out that bad. The border edges have small chips to them but all would be covered by the glass retaining wood trim. All the glass panes have no cracks or chips in the glass that will be visible after they are installed with glass finish moldings. The glass does have some small air bubbles within them. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer. Harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Vintage Front Entry Beveled Glass Oak Door with Hardware and Doorbell
This is a great old oak door out of a house in Port Jervis. NY. It is a very heavy solid oak door. It still has its original brass hardware and it has a fantastic wind up spring-release door bell. The bell winds from the inside and rings and unwinds when the button is pushed on the outside. There are two keys for the lock; the lock is in working condition. There is no doorknob. The hinges are Stanley Works, and are stamped with the sweetheart logo(s.w. inside a heart) which dates them between 1920 and 1935, which likely dates this door as well. The beveled glass is in great condition. The first 5 photos are of the interior of the door. The interior surface is in very good, clean shape the only issue being that curtain rods were repeatedly hung and rehung causing a cluster of small nail holes at each corner. The holes can be seen in the photo ... morewith the close-up of the hinge. Photos 6- 11 are of the exterior of the door. The exterior is veneered-not sure what type of wood was used for the veneer-could also be oak. The surface is nicely aged with the typical darkening and crackling of the varnish that gives character to old doors. There are a few cracks in the veneer on the bottom panel as can be seen in the photos; the rest of the door is clean. Picture 12 is our frozen-faced aussiedoodle, Gracie!
