Pair Large Art Deco ETCHED BRASS DOORS Clift Hotel San Francisco 3' W x 8' H ea
Tall pair of art deco design and era etched brass doors from the Clift Hotel in San Francisco. The pair is from the famous French Room. Which was the hotel's gracious dining room. These doors are clad with etched brass on one side only. Over solid wood. The other side is painted in a neutral color, and have two detail panels on each door and wonderful brass round knobs that accent the larger brass handles on the other side. There is also a door closure mechanism for easy quiet closing. We believe it to be in working order but cannot be certain of this as it has been a while since it was in use. The brass clad side of the doors have large 12" long brass handles that stand 2" away from the door itself. The brass is etched with a flower bouquet and edged with a flowing scroll design. These doors come with three. 4.5 inch hinges ... moreeither side. Only the top left hand hinge is complete. The middle left hand hinge has it's bolt but not the other hinge plate, frame wing) The other four hinges are without bolts and frame wings. Each door makes an impressive statement being nearly eight feet in height! T hey are each 35" wide x 95.25" tall. With a depth of 1.7/8" inclusive of the brass cladding. The doors are in very good vintage/used condition. There is some scratching to the surface in places. Although it does not detract from the overall appearance and could likely be polished out professionally. We also have listed a smaller matching pair of doors from the Redwood Room at the Clift Hotel. Due to the unique nature of these doors we would welcome personal contact and preferably on site viewing.
