Large Vintage Antique Remington Rand 4 Hour Fire Safe Retracting Double Doors
Hi. Very vintage,large 4 hour fire safe by Remington Rand. Yes I have the combination and the locks work great. Pic 2 is the top front and is the basic nametag. Locks are made by Yale, all brass. Pics 5 and 7 show the access plates, I don't think they have ever been opened. Pic 4 shows the 4 hour rating with model and serial numbers. I can't find a year of manufacture though. Pic 6 shows the left door and panel. The small latch holds the panel shut. When you push this down, while the door is open, it swings the entire door out on the panel, as in pic 7, and then can be rolled into the side compartment and out of the way. Both doors do this. They have rollers to move and rest on. Takes the weight off the hinges and gets the doors out of the way so you can work. This is pic 8. In pic 9 it shows the bottom hinge on the right door needs ... moreto be welded. It still works great, but this should be done. Someone tried brazing it, created the rust spot on the outside, and it didn't take. I've had this for 19 years and have never had a problem using it in this condition. Pic 10 shows the three antique file drawers that all work and have no dings, dents or twists. The entire unit is removable as well. The two shelves are very adjustable in no more than an inch increments. Adjustable from the bottom to the top. They slide into grooves. Caster style wheels! Pic 11. All four wheels rotate a full 360 degrees so you can push this in any direction. Pic 12 is closed. Weight is a guess around a ton. Outside measurements are 62 1/2 inches long, 47 1/2 high and 32 1/2 deep. The interior measurements are 36 inches wide, 31 1/2 high and 19 1/2 deep. Length is so the doors can slide into the sides. I got my user name artslumo thirty years ago when a friend was trying to describe my taste in architecture. I overheard him making fun of me when describing the things I collected and salvaged. He said that some people liked art deco. Others, art nouveau, and because I was getting things out of burnt out tenements, he called me art slumo. Beautiful 100-year-old fire proof doors out of a recently demolished factory in Bergen County. NJ. Doors are still on site and vary in size from 5' wide to 12' wide and all appear to be about 9' tall. Most have old paint on them, but all are wood core and metal clad. They have multiple brass tags on them from the Leonard Sheet Metal Works Co Inc, Hoboken, NJ. Last patent date is September 10, 1912. Probably anywhere between 5-6 doors available. Also have a freight elevator door that dates to the same time-early 1900s. MAKE AN OFFER FAST-don't want to see these go in a dumpster and work is progressing FAST. Take a look at photos. Such as oyster shucking plant, lumber, brewery and lamp factory as the last one in the 1980's. They measure 2 3/4" thickness) x 38" width) x 76' 79" length) The top is angled. Weight approx. 300 lbs. each door. Unfortunately only one hanging bracket is available and still attached to one door. Here are approximately 130 20 minute fire rated doors: 100 2 panel. 15 2 panel, 15 French and 1 vented measuring 36 x 79. I came into these doors by accident and knew that they looked too good to go to waste. I am listing them as local pick-up for a couple of reasons: they are pretty heavy, I would like to sell all at once, and I don't know how to keep the shipping cost down since this is the biggest thing I have ever sold on eBay. Also, if you buy all or most of them in one purchase the price will come down significantly! BIN is the sold separately price. This is larger than the scanner, so the listing picture looks a bit over-cropped, but the actual item is better. It is in good condition and would make a great framed item or collector's piece. This has to be one of the most amazing Vietnam zippos I have ever seen! This lighter has the factory applied USN logo on the front and anchor on the back. Along with engraving that looks to have been added while in Vietnam. The front reads"River Division 574 Nha Be Vietnam Sep 67 Oct 68" The back simply reads"COME ON BABY LIGHT MY FIRE" a reference to the song"light my fire" by the Doors. I have never seen that on any other zippo. The condition of this lighter is great! Well used but still in good working condition.
