The door is made of solid wood, has 9 windows and 4 triangular raised panels. One glass lite is missing. But the rest are fully intact. On the interior side of the door. The top corner of the hinge stile looks like it was pushed in by something; the top of the lock stile, bottom of the hinge stile, bottom rail, bottom of the lock stile, the crisscrossing rails, the edge of the lock stile and a piece of molding next to the window without the glass are all chipped; there is a break in the middle hinge mortise; a piece of molding above the window without the glass and the bottom portion of the hinge stile are both cracked. Otherwise. This door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Vintage Wood Exterior Screen Door With Copper Grid 35" w x 84" h My parents bought the house we live in now in 1964. At some point after that. They removed the wood screen doors and wood window screens and put them in the barn. This door was on the front entrance, but has been in the barn now for many years. The house was built in the late 1930's so I assume it is original to that time. The door has many layers of paint. Some of which I am sure contain lead. The top layer seems to be a black or a very, very dark green in color and is chipping in numerous places. The frame is about 35" wide and 84" tall. I believe all parts are intact and original. The grid is made of copper and needs cleaning. The door is made of solid Pine, and features 9 wavy glass lites and 3 raised panels. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. Absolutely gorgeous vintage solid wood entry door! This is from our Tudor home. Built in 1928, and it is believed to be the original front door(exterior) Not sure of the type of wood, but pretty much everything in the house is white oak, so assuming this is too. The vintage hardware is still attached, but there is no key for the lock. Great restoration project. When fully restored, this door will knock your socks off! FINE VINTAGE EXTERIOR/ INTERIOR SOLID WOOD DOOR W/ BEVEL& TEXTURED GLASS# 43 with 8 small Jewels. Size: 35.75" wide x 83. high x 1.75" thick. 85 lbs. A very heavy duty door that shows average wear. Had been used as an interior door. The beveled and textured leaded glass is in an octagonal shape. The door in general has a nice design and is very substantial as it weighs 85 lbs and the wood is thick. Shows some typical wear with some surface scratches. There is light paint residue that should clean up.Nice graining. One hinge is bent. But hardware is intact including the door handles. No lock. There are two panes with cracks as shown. 8 small jewels. Good looking door that just needs a little TLC.
