Although the design on the lock and door plates are often refered to as the"Ceylon" pattern. That name was limited to the knob design seen with this set. This set includes a matching strike plate that has been opened up a bit, but otherwise looks fine. The switch on the face plate of the lock allows the door to be closed in a prelocked position and the included latch bolt key is needed to properly utilize this feature. The set includes one bronze faced reversible entry mortise lock. Two"Ceylon" pattern knobs, one large door plate and round knob escutcheon, matching strike plate, single keyhole cover, and both the latchbolt and deadbolt keys. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The mortise lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 5/8" and the face plate is 6 13/16" tall x 1" wide. The lock box is 4 5/8" tall x 5/8" thick x 3 9/16" deep. Doors are some form of hard wood, I believe one part is Oak with maybe a Teak but not for certain. They are very heavy, each weighing about 200 pounds. Tall pair of art deco design and era etched brass doors from the Clift Hotel in San Francisco. The pair is from the famous French Room. Which was the hotel's gracious dining room. These doors are clad with etched brass on one side only. Over solid wood. The other side is painted in a neutral color, and have two detail panels on each door and wonderful brass round knobs that accent the larger brass handles on the other side. There is also a door closure mechanism for easy quiet closing. We believe it to be in working order but cannot be certain of this as it has been a while since it was in use. The brass clad side of the doors have large 12" long brass handles that stand 2" away from the door itself. The brass is etched with a flower bouquet and edged with a flowing scroll design. A kind ebayer with knowledge of these types of knobs and locks offered that the glass pane door may be from circa 1900-1910. The first is an exterior door and been painted green on one side and is natural or stained on the other. It has one half of the hinge unit still attached and the other is gone. It is solid wood with 6 glass panes measuring approx. 6 ¾” x 16” and the dimensions of the door are approx. 79 ¼” tall x 30 ½” wide x 1 5/16” thick. It could use a slight amount of repair and perhaps refinishing but appears to be rock solid. The brass knob hardware works fine from both sides but there is no skeleton key. The second is an interior 2 ... morepanel door and is natural or stained on both sides. All brass hinge assemblies are there for both on the door and jamb sides It also is solid wood measuring approx. 78” tall x 32” wide x 1 5/16” thick. It could use a slight amount of repair at the bottom left of one side but this appears superficial. You could also refinish it if you wish. It also appears to be a heavy and nice old door. The brass knob hardware works fine from both sides but there is no skeleton key for this door either. Finally. A group of brass hinge hardware that you can analyze from the photos and please use the zoom feature to see hem closely. It appears there are two sets complete with pins and 2 jamb side only with only 1 pin. Because of their age. Obviously I cannot detail every single characteristic good or bad of these doors so please be ready to accept them as-is upon pickup. However. But I am not a wood expert. This set measures approximately 60" x 81-1/2" The door thickness is approximately 1-3/4" Each door weighs approximately 52 pounds. All of the original brass hardware is included but the hinges are missing. I have taken photos of the both the fronts and backs of these beautiful doors as well as some pictures at different angles.
