VINTAGE SOLID WOOD INTERIOR FRENCH DOORS - lot of 4 - from 1920's
These four French doors are from my colonial house in Spring Glen In Hamden. CT built in 1928. Original doors from when the house was built. They have been stored in my basement for 25 years. Three of the doors are 30" wide by 80" long. They are almost 2" thick. The 4th door was cut at one time or another. The fourth door measures approximately 80" x 30" and is about 1 1/2" thick. I am unsure of the type of wood. From looking at others I think they are maple because that was the wood used in that time period but, again, I am not 100% sure. Local pick-up is in Cheshire, CT. Penn Antique Restoration. 19"x83" Antique Interior French Pine Door w/ 12 Wavy Glass Lites. Exquisite. Antique, interior, French door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir and features an impressive arrangement of 12 true-divided old-fashioned. Hand-blown, wavy glass lites. If you take a closer look at the front(Exterior" photo) of the door. You will notice that the door is equipped with an astragal. This indicates that the door was originally part of a pair. Unfortunately, we do not have the other matching door to complete this set. However, if you would like the astragal removed, we will be more than happy to remove it for FREE. There are no lock mortises cut into the door. As a result. You can cut and create any size mortise for any lock you wish! When most people hear"pine" ... morethey think of a cheap. Weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant.
