Although the design on the lock and door plates are often refered to as the"Ceylon" pattern. That name was limited to the knob design seen with this set. This set includes a matching strike plate that has been opened up a bit, but otherwise looks fine. The switch on the face plate of the lock allows the door to be closed in a prelocked position and the included latch bolt key is needed to properly utilize this feature. The set includes one bronze faced reversible entry mortise lock. Two"Ceylon" pattern knobs, one large door plate and round knob escutcheon, matching strike plate, single keyhole cover, and both the latchbolt and deadbolt keys. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The mortise lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 5/8" and the face plate is 6 13/16" tall x 1" wide. The lock box is 4 5/8" tall x 5/8" thick x 3 9/16" deep. The large door plate is 7 1/4" tall x 1 15/16" wide. The knobs are 2 1/4" in diameter. Art Deco Waterfall Nightstands Bow Front Doors in Burl - Pair - BEAUTIFUL
MATCHING PAIR OF ART DECO NIGHTSTANDS. Circa early 1930s in beautiful walnut veneer. Waterfall design with curved bowfront doors in burl walnet. The dimensions are approximately 18" deep x 20" wide- they stand about 24" tall. They are simple. Elegant, and lovely to look at. These are in excellent. Unrestored condition. The front veneer is lovely- no cracks or chips. The only visible damage to the exterior woodwork is a tiny chip(about 1/8" square) in the veneer of one nightstand at the base of the unit at the back- not visible at all. One of the drawers has a small piece of wood missing underneath the drawer front(out of sight) and someone years ago put a nail in the area to effect a repair- none of this effects the operation of the door and you'd have to remove the door and look to find it. Overall, these have been ... morevery well taken care of- it's very rare to find a set in this condition. I've owned these for about 20 years. I bought them from a prominent art dealer in Washington. DC. When I bought them there was a maker's label on the back- I seem to recall the maker being Conant-Ball, but memory is fading and I can't be sure. Unfortunately the labels on both are gone- they were old decals that were dried out and cleaning and dusting over the years knocked them off. I'm not an art deco expert and I've done the best I can to describe these great little nightstands- they are real gems.

Made in England Circa 1940 Walnut Vertical tambour doors 36 total drawers Roller latches Small spot of damage to left door Minor wear Very sturdy, This very unique antique file or sheet music cabinet was made in England around 1940 and is a gorgeous walnut wood. The three vertically rolling tambour doors are the focal point of this cabinet. The originally had locks which held the doors up when closed. However those locks have been replaced with roller latches that are quite secure and require no key. Each tambour door houses a column of twelve open ... moreface drawers that slide in and out on wooden runners. Each drawer is about 15" wide. The top of this file cabinet is decorated with geometric and floral carvings which look beautiful. The paneled sides are clean and the brass hardware blends well with the walnut wood. There is one small spot of damage on the very left tambour door around the middle(see picture) and the entire piece has very minor cosmetic wear as you would expect from a piece of this age. Overall though, this cabinet is very sturdy and in very good condition. It is a unique piece that would make a wonderful addition to any home and can be used in a variety of ways. Made of walnut and burled walnut veneer, the desk has 3 drawers in the lower section, the middle section is a drop front desk with pigeon holes and leather work space, the upper section has leaded glass doors and adjustable shelves. Measures 71- 1/4" tall(almost 6 feet) x 29- 1/2" wide; the lower section is 16" deep, the upper is 7- 3/4" deep. Condition is excellent as shown in the photos.
