VINTAGE SOLID WOOD INTERIOR FRENCH DOORS - lot of 4 - from 1920's
These four French doors are from my colonial house in Spring Glen In Hamden. CT built in 1928. Original doors from when the house was built. They have been stored in my basement for 25 years. Three of the doors are 30" wide by 80" long. They are almost 2" thick. The 4th door was cut at one time or another. The fourth door measures approximately 80" x 30" and is about 1 1/2" thick. I am unsure of the type of wood. From looking at others I think they are maple because that was the wood used in that time period but, again, I am not 100% sure. Local pick-up is in Cheshire, CT. This is a old front entry door to a row home in Reading PA that is very old and heavy. The door is 1 3/4"thick. It had very thick glass and some of it is left. Size is 81 1/4" by 36 3/4. It has neat knobs and a nice lock. It has some wood work on the outer side. This is a very heavy door that could be brought back and used again without too much trouble. Being offered are 4 Antique Architectural Salvaage Rosette- Plinth Blocks. Three of the blocks measure approximately 5 ½” X 5 7/16th” and 1 1/8th inches deep. The other measures 5 1/2” X 5” and 1 1/8th inch deep. All appear to be made of a some type of fur wood and stained brown. All have what appear to be the original patina. All are in vintage/antique condition. Each have nail holes. Some filled some not, hammer marks, dents, dings and a couple have white paint marks. One looks like an attempt was made to re-stain over the top of the old stain. Due to these plinth block being made of a fur wood and stained brown, they were possibly made for a second or third floor of an old house. But that is unknown. As far as their age. Antique Vintage 2 Panel Interior Door 31 5/8" X 79 1/4"
2 hinges were originally installed so that if you wanted to PULL the door open you would grab the door knob on the right hand side. Mortised lock and escutcheon plates included. Hinge side height is 79 1/2" Opening side is 79 1/4" This is the last of four doors I installed in my home. This is an extra door. Door has a nice rich mahogany color to it but needs refinishing. When I purchased them from an antique dealer I was told they came from a demolitioned school house in South New Jersey. Note. These are in good used condition. Beveled glass. One has a slight crack by one screw hole. I have this pictured. They measure 12 inches in length. And about 3 inches wide.
