HEAVY CARVED POLYCHROME SOLID WOOD SET ANTIQUE CHINESE DOORS GATE FRAME CORBELS
Talk about an unusual Charleston estate auction find. here is an incredible heavy carved polychrome solid wood Chinese door or heavy gate with a cross beam and side beam frame as well as the heavy raised panel doors with all their original iron fittings. This is an old Chinese door and is extremely heavy as well as somewhat primitive on the unfinished sides of the beams. The polychrome paint is quite worn but is still quite evident and adds so much character to an already gorgeous detailed yet functional heavy door. I have included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design. Quality, condition and overall beauty of this delightful antique door. Unfotunately I do not know any additional provenance on the door or have any definitive explanation as to how it arrived in our fair city, though with it being a port ... morecity and with the sheer size and weight, my guess is whenever it came to the US, it was most assuredly by boat long ago. The standing door frame itself is 78 inches tall by 68 inches wide at it's widest points. At beams which extend and is constructed of huge beams 4 1/2 inches wide.The inside doorway entrance(inside the standing frame) is 63 1/2 inches tall and 39 1/4 inches wide, with a bottom crossbeam one would have to step over to enter. In addition there is a large crossbeam I believe goes overhead, hooking into the corbels, 68 inches long by 8 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches thick. There are also two side beams each 73 1/4 inches long by 6 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches thick and the two corbels, carved from blocks roughly 21 1/2 inches by 12 inches by 8 inches. The two raised panels doors, which shut from behind the door frame, are 74 1/2 inches tall and very heavy, ready for locking out the enemy. They measure 95" long fully extended x 93" tall x 2.25" thick- each window measures 23" x 6" All original door hardware is included along with handles. Key plates locks, hinges and track wheels. Description This is a great antique door that was salvaged from an Ohio Victorian home. The doors are painted on both sides. Each door has a flat panel at the bottom and an etched glass panel at the top. The glass panel have an arched top. They are frosted with wheel cut etched vases and flowers. The doors have rollers on the bottom and guides at the top. I don't have the track or guide. It measures 49 inches wide 106.75 inches tall and 1.75 inches thick. Overall it is in good condition. I have for sale a beautiful set of antique solid oak doors with slag glass panels. They look like they were used as front entrance doors at one time as the left one has the door stop strip on it. Both still have the original hinges and the right one has the original knob plates(but not the door knobs) The slag glass is in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks. The glass for the most part is variations of green with some amber. Gray and white. The wood around the edges does have some issues where the wood has peeled off on some of the corners but could easily be filled in with wood filler and stained. All the wood pieces that hold in the glass are intact and in good condition. 2 Old vtg CUPBOARD cabinet DOORS repurpose set lot
Welcome: I will be listing a good variety of items this week see my other auctions to combine shipping. I am offering up for auction 2 Old vtg CUPBOARD cabinet DOORS re-purpose set lot. This came from a estate sale here in Pa. We bought these for out garage and yet another project my husband never finished haha. We are downsizing and do not need them. I found these in the garage they are hollow wood(launa I think) and these need cleaned or better yet repainted. They have a rounded over edge on the front and comes with 2 door knobs and 4 hinges still attached. These were off a wall mount type cupboard we think. These are a thin wood and are painted. These have lots of use marks. Paint loss, scratches and use marks. I am not sure what the wood looks like under this is the way we bought it several years ago. It has some holes and paint loss ... morewhere a hook or some other hardware was at one time. This measures approximately 1 1/8 inch thick. 13 1/4 inches across, 30 inches tall. BEST set of 11 doors, mortise and through tenon, raised panels w/hardware
set of 11. Full through mortised and tenoned doors with doorknobs, backplates,mortised locks, and hinges-all match save one backplate, but is close. made of 100 year old pine. They have a clear finish-no checking, cherry stained. each door has 5 through mortise and tenon joinery, 2 on the bottom, then 3 spaced to the top. doorknobs and backplates are made of metal and have a simple design. Hinges are heavy duty and appeared to be rolled locks are mortised with operable locks. No keys though any skeleton will do. All doors are smooth and clean. Of very tight construction and they MATCH! There are glass panels at the top(one is broken) with shelves and carved pieces below. The raised panels at the bottom have ornate details with raised moldings and corner rosettes. The astrigal(divider molding) is very nice. The backs have raised panels at the bottom. They measure 44.75 inches wide together by 83 tall on the the shorter side. They were trimmed) They are just under 2 inches thick. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. Set of 4 old original solid wood doors from 1920's bungalow local pickup only NR
Thanks for looking at my post. I have these 4 lovely old solid wood doors from up for sale FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY IN SPRINGFIELD, MO. Included are 2 each 24" x 79.5" doors and 2 each 30" x 79.5" doors. These have solid pine wood rails and stiles with a top and bottom plywood panel insert design. The mortise locks are included with each door, no backplates or door knobs come with though. There's also hinges on each door but I don't have the recieving jamb hinges or hinge pins for each door. All of these doors are painted both sides with at least a couple layers of paint. Overall they're in great shape, if you're interested in having the paint completely stripped off it shouldn't cost more than $40-50/door as I've had this done with other doors this size recently. These doors measure 79"x 22"x 3" Each has 43 brass pegs on front and the back has an interesting iron designs throughout. Doors are some form of hard wood, I believe one part is Oak with maybe a Teak but not for certain. They are very heavy, each weighing about 200 pounds. These came from an old church/mission in Carson City Nevada, believed to have existed since late 1700 maybe early 1800's. The character/ design of these doors is very unique. Pair of Art glass pocket doors & 3 piece ornate molding set 1890s
Beautiful pair of circa 1890s pocket doors from a Brooklyn brownstone with a 3 piece crown molding set very fancy/ornate…The top piece is missing some design at top and a cracked piece right under the top part which needs to be just cut straight across to make it look complete or repaired.This set is missing the square base on each corner that lifts it up 6-8 inches to fit around both doors evenly.They could not salvage these square pieces but this is a very simple piece to fill in…I have 4 other sets of this molding listed in my ebay store if interested that is for 30 and 32 inch door openings. This door is around 102 inches tall and 33 inches wide each and 2 inches thick at middle and ends of doors are 3 inches thick they are truly beautiful victorian pocket doors with wheels at base to run on a track or can be used as a super entrance ... moredoors.The back plates when restored with look more ornate when all the pant is off of them I will also send some glass door knobs if you would like them…All glass is perfect just clean and paint doors or strip them down not sure of the wood but it seems to have a greenish color to it where some paint chipped off.The doors are heavy I would say over 100lbs each.As far as shipping that is fine if you can provide shipper and have them picked up at my home or you can come pick them up.For any other info email or call Vinny 1-631-300-7403 thanks.

Textured (Snowflake) Glass Paneled Doors, Set of 11+
These doors were taken out of a Methodist church where they had been part of a folding room divider wall. They are made of yellow pine and measure just under 9' tall and are 28" wide and 1 1/4" thick. The glass is a'snowflake' pattern. Smooth on one side and textured on the other. There are 11 doors with the glass intact and another two without the glass. Although I have a separate full piece of the glass and a few smaller pieces. I would like to sell everything together. SET 3 SECTION 108" TALL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN OAK ETCHED GLASS DOORS DUTCH SCENES
These absolutely gorgeous 3 section antique quartersawn oak Victorian era doors with fabulous etched glass windows with all the bells and whistles when it comes to fine exquisite antique etched glass. Like it's cartouches and swags in the corners and across the tops above the three Dutch scenes across the bottom, each individual but they work together, like the doors, drawn in by their border designs. This old glass appears to be in very good condition, intact and free of any cracks, chips or hairlines. The paneled oak doors are solid and in very nice condition on both sides, and protected across the bottom on each side by an attached wood kick board on both sides of each of the three doors. They are designed with built in hinges as shown in close up and they do have the old hardware, also as shown. The scenes one the etched glass are ... morevery detailed and simply exquisite. On one side a woman and child watch a boy in a rowboat with a windmill in the background. In the center it appears the boy in the rowboat has reached the windmill and he sits playing with a toy sailboat. On the other side pane, there is a woman with a flower basket, with a windmill and another out building in the background. There is an interesting border design with cartouche's in the outside corners across the bottom of the three scenes and across the top of the three tree sprays which show the three panes come together as one picture, as in one doors. These three doors are each 108 inches tall and are 27 1/4 inch wide and 1 3/8's inches thick. These are gorgeous formidable sturdy old Victorian doors, ready for use and as a decorative highlight in any large Victorian sized home which can accomodate their size.
