Beautiful pair of Italian tole sconces - just rewired
Stunning pair of Italian tole sconces. 20" height. 11" width. Just rewired and ready for use, new faux"candlesticks" replaced as well. Appropriate age and patina, one area of mention is that one"flower bulb" on the very top of one of the sconces is slightly larger and different than the others, but only noticeable when you look for it(see last picture) I do not know the age of these, the general consensus has been manufacture sometime in the earlier part of the 1900's, from the 20's to the 50's. the metal looks to be tin. The sconces are also just simply beautiful. And I do rather have a fondness for red. In the last image you can see the distinctive glass shades. Wholly restored and with new sockets and wiring. This set is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixtures accept standard base 60W bulbs. I would suggest appliance-size bulbs. Each sconce has an on/off switch. As I don’t trust old switches I deactivated these. If this feature is important please contact me. COLOR: Red with gold detailing. SIZE: The sconces are 10-inches high. The back-plated are 4-1/2-inches wide. The shades are 6-inches wide. They project 7-1/2-inches. CONDITION: I love writing this: there’s no damage. And the sconces have holes in the end of the leaves to apply crystals if the buyer so wishes. The finish on the sconces is more of a bronze tone than gold, a previous owner may have applied a surface finish to them or they just might need a good cleaning, however the photos of the back of the sconces show what is most likely the original gold leaf finish. You are bidding on 2 stunning antique Italian Florentine lighted sconces with their original stickers on the back. My camera truly does not show how beautiful these are. The fixtures have gilded scrolling tole leaves and is dripping in dazzling prisms. There are 27 medium crystals. 28 small and 1 large for a total of 58 crystals on each sconce. There are two arms on each holding 2 lights each. It is in very good condition with good wiring. It shows off its age with some slight paint loss. Gold colored metal, just the right amount of patina, could use a good cleaning. Small base candelabra bulbs. The sconces are about 18" wide(from shade to shade) 14" tall(from bottom of fixture to top of shade) and protrude about 8 1/2" from the wall. These sconces are in working condition. Pair of vintage Wall Sconces , Metal Tole Art , original paint , Geraniums
This is a first time listing. This impressive pair measure 23 inches in height and 21 inches across. The pair were removed from storage in a basement where they had stayed for some time in a unheated environment. That has resulted in some surface humidity brown marks on the metal. It is not corrosion.These are marks that easily can be touched up with a bottle of artists acrylic paint, easily done. I prefer to list them as is in the exact condition I found them. So shabby French chic! Pair of Antique French Lighted Wall Sconces. I was told these were from the Sun Valley(Idaho) Opera House. These have attached shades and 2 glass prisms each. The fabric shades could use cleaning. Overall. This is in wonderful vintage condition. There are holes to attach 3 glass prisms to-only of which 2 per lamp are included and the fixtures will need wall hanging brackets on the back. The prisms are in two parts- a small circle and a large oval which measures 1 1/2" long and 1" wide. The entire prism is about 2 1/8" long.
