Syroco Wood or the SYRacuse Ornamental COmpany was founded in the 1890's by an Austrian woodcarver named Adolph Holstein. Originally they made ornamental carvings for coffins and furniture as well as the interiors of fashionable homes. Including the New Your Governor's Mansion in Albany, New York. As business and demand increased, they developed a molding technique where they could create perfect replicas of their original carvings with a mixture of wood flour, waxes and casting resin, including wood grain for an inexpensive, but beautiful piece.The 1940's saw them making novelty items like corkscrews and other barware that helped them survive into the 1950's. Pair of Vintage Silver Plaster Acanthus Leaf Sconces/Shelves Mid-Century
These gorgeous mid-century vintage sconces are plaster with an acanthus leaf design. There are two half moon hooks built in on each sconce back. These were originally gold leaf colored but I spray painted them silver to go with my décor. They can be spray painted any color that you like. There are a few areas where the plaster has deteriorated near the back top edge and I have tried to photograph that area so you can see it. The sconces measure 7-3/4" tall and 6-1/2" wide. The sconces measure 3" deep at the widest part of the half moon top. They are completely flat on the backside. All of my items have been stored in a smoke-free environment. This pair of brass wall sconces measure 13 1/2" in diameter and date from the mid-late 18th century(c.1750-1800) Each is hand chased by an artisan and one has a lion and Coat of Arms and the other shows someone of aristocratic society(possibly who this exceptional pair of sconces were made for) The candlesticks are removable and show a dolphin head just below drip pans and they show period construction with hand hammered copper rivets. The fitter measures 3-1/4” in diameter at the widest points. There are no chips. Cracks, scratches or r epairs to either of the shades and they are ready to use and in very good condition. The chrome fixtures measure 4-3/4” in diameter at the base and are 2” deep. The chrome shows some wear with pitting and there is rust in the hidden sections. There are 3 fitter screws missing. Vintage mid-century Virden aluminum bullet sconces (set of 2)
Vintage mid-century Virden aluminum bullet sconces(set of 2) An atomic age find in good used condition. These two matching light fixtures were replaced in a recent building remodel and were operational at the time of removal. They can be mounted on the wall or on the ceiling. There are no model numbers on the sconces. But they appear to be model V-6226 as shown in the 1959 Virden catalog(see photo) Known flaws: 1. One of the sconces has a bent edge. Which is visible in the photos. 2. On the other sconce. The light bulb broke upon removal and part of the socket remains stuck in the light fixture. I have not attempted to remove it. The light bulbs are not operational but I will include them upon request. The bulb says Reflector 120W/ 120V.

Vintage Art Deco Wall Sconces Set of 5 Mid Century Milk Glass & Gold Tone Metal
Set of 5 Vintage Art Deco Wall Sconces. Metal frames. Milk glass globes. Measure 12" height, 10 1/4" wide on the top, 5.5" deep. One of the globes was broken at the bottom where it fits into the metal fixture. A piece was glued back on and the corner is missing. It can't be seen when the globe in on the fixture. See last 2 pictures for detail.

Set of 4 Mid Century Modern Sconces-Vintage MDM Slip Shade Wall Light - Progress
Available here is a set of four sconces. These sconces were probably produced in the 50s or 60s and feature a classic mid-century modern design. They were made by the Progress Manufacturing Co. The original tags are still intact on the back of the sconces. The slip shades rest inside the metal fixture. The curved glass shades have linear lines leading up to a white and gold checkered design on the top. Two of the shades have very small chips on the back lip of the shade. Please see pictures as the chips are very small and aren't noticeable when hung. The fixtures are made of brass and retain the original rotary switches. The wiring on all of these are good and the sconces work as they should. The metal fixtures are in very good condition. These even have the original mounting plates to help with the installation. The mounting plates are ... moremarked with the manufacturers name. Any wiring shown in the photos are there strictly to demonstrate the wiring works. All wiring would be hidden from view when properly hung inside your home. The glass shades measure 11.5" tall. They are 4.5" at the widest point and 1.75" in width at the smallest point. The metal sconces are approximately 4.5" in diameter. It is hard to come by a set of four sconces in conditions this good! Feel free to contact me with any questions. Hi. This is a pair of 2 Hollywood Regency cast brass wall candle sconces with 5 glass prisms each. They are 8 1/4" long, so they extend that from the wall. The base is 5" in diameter and the sconces have the appropriate patina for their age. They are an unusual design and would be lovely in any Hollywood Regency or traditional room. The only flaw I could find was a couple of prisms were evidently replaced and are slightly larger. Please message me if you have any questions. Lovely pair of Mid Century Hollywood Regency Sconces with metal bases and heavy glass globes. Items are in good condition. The base is stamped/etched GIM 1968 3085 on the inside. I do not have the means to plug them in however the electrical hardware is still in tact. Some wall paint on the base of one of them and I will leave it for the new owner to remove.
